Seahawks coaches Aden Durde and Karl Scott are reportedly generating buzz across the NFL<\/p>\n
The Seattle Seahawks<\/a> are fresh off winning Super Bowl LX, and they have spent the offseason celebrating. While the team is working towards building a roster that is capable of repeating as champions, the Seahawks have rightfully been basking in the glory that comes with reaching the top of the proverbial mountain in the NFL<\/a>.<\/p>\n Seattle has lost some key pieces this offseason, both on its roster and its coaching staff, but for the most part, the majority of the team is returning. Don\u2019t think that teams aren\u2019t taking notice of what the Seahawks have managed to do, though, as it sounds like two of their coaches, defensive coordinator Aden Durde<\/a> and defensive backs coach\/passing game coordinator Karl Scott<\/a>, are generating some serious buzz across the league.<\/p>\n Aden Durde and Karl Scott Are Catching the NFL\u2019s Attention<\/p>\n Seattle\u2019s defense played a big role in its run to a championship last, with Durde and Scott finding a way to get the most out of their players. While neither guy landed a new job in the NFL\u2019s coaching cycle, that doesn\u2019t mean teams across the league aren\u2019t keeping tabs on them. According to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, folks across the NFL are surprised that head coach Mike Macdonald managed to find a way to keep Durde in town<\/a> this offseason.<\/p>\n \u201cOne executive marveled that Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald was able to keep so much of his defensive staff intact \u2014 starting with Durde, the DC of the NFL\u2019s best (and Super Bowl-winning) defense last year,\u201d Rodrigue wrote.<\/p>\n Similarly, one of Durde\u2019s top lieutenants, Scott, has impressed folks over the past few years. Macdonald opted to retain Scott after taking over as the team\u2019s head coach in 2024, and he\u2019s played a big role in turning Seattle\u2019s secondary into one of its biggest weapons. (Photo by Steph Chambers\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n Macdonald has earned his fair share of praise in recent months, and former offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak parlayed one year of solid work with Sam Darnold into a job as the Las Vegas Raiders<\/a>\u2018 new head coach. Durde and Scott may fly under the radar in the public eye, but they are rising stars in NFL circles.<\/p>\n For now, both guys are sticking around with Seattle, but if the team puts together another strong season in 2026, Macdonald may have a more difficult time finding a way to keep them in town.
