It feels like a blockbuster trade involving the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> is inevitable this offseason.<\/p>\n

With all the trade buzz surrounding the franchise, it would be shocking for a deal not to occur in the next few months. ESPN\u2019s Bill Barnwell agrees, as his recent blockbuster trade pitch<\/a> would send a 25-year-old Super Bowl champion to the Raiders<\/a> for a five-time Pro Bowler.<\/p>\n

\u201cEagles get: Edge Maxx Crosby, Raiders get: 1-23, 2027 third-round pick, and Edge Nolan Smith Jr,\u201d Barnell wrote Monday. “The logical move, as I brought up in my column on the aftereffects of the Crosby trade being rescinded last month, might be to swap veterans.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s unclear whether A.J. Brown will still be on the Eagles’ roster in 2026, but if he gets traded, that move will likely come after June 1, when his dead cap figure can be spread between 2026 and 2027 for accounting purposes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis (Barnell\u2019s trade idea) is an alternative for both sides. The Raiders would deal Crosby to the Eagles without Brown being involved. The Raiders wouldn’t land two first-round picks or get as high a first-rounder as the one they were set to receive from Baltimore, but this would be a reasonable return.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Raiders didn\u2019t expect Crosby to be a part of the organization at this stage of the offseason. In March, the organization agreed to a deal that would have sent Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens<\/a> for two first-round picks.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, the deal fell through, which is the reason why Barnell was able to craft a hypothetical trade scenario involving Crosby and the Eagles.<\/p>\n

Considering Crosby is in win-now mode, and Philadelphia should be in the market for a dynamic edge rusher after failing to generate pressure on opposing quarterbacks toward the end of the 2025-26 season, a deal isn\u2019t out of the equation.<\/p>\n

Crosby was his usual dominant self last season, recording 73 tackles, 10 sacks, and two forced fumbles on a Raiders team that finished with a putrid 3-14 record.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s reasonable to assume the 28-year-old would give the Eagles the pass-rushing boost they\u2019re currently missing, but only if the Raiders prove willing to move on from him, for real.<\/p>\n
