A to Z Sports proposed the Green Bay Packers offer the New York Giants two players and two draft picks for defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence.<\/p>\n

The Green Bay Packers<\/a> have some of the lowest NFL draft capital over the next two years. That\u2019s because the team doesn\u2019t have a first-round pick in 2026 or 2027 due to the Micah Parsons<\/a> trade. So, it\u2019s hard to image the Packers being a serious suitor for potential trade candidate Dexter Lawrence<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But that didn\u2019t stop A to Z Sports from submitting a hypothetical Lawrence offer from the Packers.<\/p>\n

With limited draft capital, A to Z Sports got creative, proposing the Packers trade two players and two Day 2 selections to the New York Giants<\/a> for Lawrence. Those two players were wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks<\/a> and defensive tackle Karl Brooks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Packers don\u2019t have a first-round pick in each of the next two years after trading for Micah Parsons, which makes any type of deal extremely hard to pull off,\u201d wrote A to Z Sports\u2019s Wendell Ferreira<\/a>. \u201cIn this case, trying to make things more enticing to the Giants<\/a>, we add Wicks and Brooks as part of a package that also includes two Day 2 picks over the next two seasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lawrence could potentially be heading to the trade block this spring. On Monday, the former All-Pro defensive tackle requested to be traded from the Giants.<\/p>\n

Dexter Lawrence has two years remaining on his deal and is currently scheduled to make $20 million this upcoming season.<\/p>\n

Initially there had been optimism that with changes in the organization, discussions could move forward. But now that they haven\u2019t, new Giants head coach John\u2026 https:\/\/t.co\/Ofm6N1KsKv<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

The Packers signed former rival defensive tackle Javon Hargrave<\/a> this offseason. Hargrave agreed<\/a> to come to Green Bay on a 2-year, $23 million deal.<\/p>\n

But Ferreira appeared to like the idea of Lawrence coming to Green Bay more. Despite the Hargrave signing, the NFL<\/a> writer still submitted a trade offer for the Giants defensive tackle in the A to Z Sports\u2019s Lawrence trade shopping.<\/p>\n

\u201cLawrence would be a perfect addition to what the Packers need, and while the investment is significant, $39.5 million over the next two years is a pretty reasonable amount to pay for an elite interior defender,\u201d wrote Ferreira.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s important to note, though, that whichever team lands Lawrence will then likely have to sign him to a new contract. The veteran defensive tackle requested to be traded from New York because he hasn\u2019t received a new deal over the past year.<\/p>\n

\u201cDexter Lawrence has wanted a new deal for more than a year,\u201d said ESPN\u2019s Jeremy Fowler during Sportscenter on Monday afternoon<\/a>. \u201cThe Giants put a band-aid on it, they kind of restructured some money, gave him a little extra guarantees last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cUltimately, they didn\u2019t do a new deal, but they kind of teased that they would, and here they are, he doesn\u2019t have one despite the arrival of John Harbaugh.\u201d<\/p>\n

Would Green Bay Be Willing to Trade Dontayvion Wicks for Lawrence?\"Dexter<\/p>\n

Including Wicks and Brooks in the trade for Lawrence make the blockbuster deal possible for the Packers. But it might not be the best idea.<\/p>\n

Still turning only 25 years old in June, Wicks is a promising young wideout. He has<\/a> averaged nearly 500 receiving yards per season to begin his NFL career. Wicks is also set to be Green Bay\u2019s WR4 entering the 2026 campaign.<\/p>\n

On defense, Lawrence would replace Brooks along the defensive line for the Packers. But the biggest drawback of a Lawrence trade for Green Bay is the additional sacrifices the franchise would have to make in draft capital.<\/p>\n

In the A to Z Sports proposal, the Packers sent their 2026 second-rounder and 2027 third-round pick to the Giants.<\/p>\n

That trade pitch would leave the Packers without a first or second-round pick in 2026. Next year, Green Bay would only have one selection<\/a> in the first three rounds as well (before compensatory picks).<\/p>\n

That\u2019s far from ideal. To put it plainly, it might make a Lawrence trade impossible for the Packers.<\/p>\n

Still, it\u2019s a fun hypothetical to consider. Lawrence\u2019s 6-foot-4, 340-pound frame would look tremendous in the middle of the Green Bay defensive line.<\/p>\n
