Although three months later, the organization and Bateman are ready to put that and an underwhelming 2025 campaign behind them, recent developments could change that.

The NFL’s trade market is unpredictable once the draft draws near. Stars suddenly request trades, and in an effort to move up in the first round, teams can get aggressive to deal assets. On Monday, New York Giants defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence requested a trade. The Ravens could be a team that gets aggressive to trade for him.

With John Harbaugh now coaching the Giants, it could make sense that, along with pick(s), a member of Baltimore’s current roster gets shipped the other way in a possible trade. If Harbaugh wants Bateman back on his side, the Ravens’ front office could put him in a trade package for Lawrence.

Baltimore Ravens could have opportunity to move Rashod Bateman following Dexter Lawrence trade request

It’s probably a long shot. If Bateman’s 2025 campaign is telling of the true player he is, then his $36.75 million contract could be seen as a hefty one. The drama he’s caused also doesn’t help, but New York has a desperate need for a wide receiver. Maybe adding Bateman to a room that really only has Malik Nabers could be a smart, high-upside move.

For the Ravens, there’s some reason to trade Bateman, and of course, look to add Lawrence. At wideout, they really only have Zay Flowers, and need a partner in crime for him. That may come in the 2026 NFL Draft. There’s plenty of talent at that spot this year. In turn, a possible wide receiver selection could be Bateman’s replacement.

On defense, it goes without saying that Baltimore would quickly build one of the most fearsome defensive fronts in football. It’d be a complete 180 from where they were in 2025. They’ve made it a point of emphasis this offseason, and adding Lawrence to a group that already includes Trey Hendrickson, Mike Green, Travis Jones, and Nnamdi Madubuike would be straight up nasty.

To get it done, the Giants would have to get a lucrative package of picks alongside Bateman. In all honesty, at this point, Bateman doesn’t really add too much value. He’d be a sweetener that would give New York a deep threat, while also allowing the Ravens to start fresh. A second-rounder, along with a mid-to-late round selection or two, would be the best-case scenario for Baltimore if they threw Bateman in the mix.

Ultimately, Bateman is probably out of any trade conversations. Unless they had a great backup plan, it wouldn’t be smart to trade a wideout. However, you can’t put it past John Harbaugh. He’s already brought in a bunch of former Ravens this offseason in guys like Isaiah Likely and Jordan Stout, and if he sees the opportunity to add another one, while also acquiring highly sought-after draft capital, he may push for the move.

Earlier this offseason, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman found himself in the middle of some off-the-field drama…

[2052
184,117,2282,7,6,169
0":"post-859027","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-baltimore-ravens","8":"tag-baltimore","9":"tag-baltimore-ravens","10":"tag-baltimoreravens","11":"tag-football","12":"tag-nfl","13":"tag-ravens
["GET
