The Philadelphia Eagles have, unsurprisingly, been put through the wringer this offseason. Whether it’s hit pieces on Jalen Hurts or more A.J. Brown trade chatter, it never seems like this team can enjoy some peace and quiet.<\/p>\n
Fortunately, this time of the year is when General Manager Howie Roseman really cooks. He’s been a savant in the NFL Draft<\/a> for years now, and with this year’s draft just about two weeks away, things are about to get fun.<\/p>\n However, it does feel like the Eagles have a bit more roster needs than usual. With nine total draft picks, including four in the top-100, Roseman is going to aggressively address those needs, but given the consistent trade chatter with Brown, it might only be a matter of time before that trade actually happens, and the Eagles do some preparing before it goes down.<\/p>\n The well-connected Peter Schrager has Philadelphia Eagles taking WR Denzel Boston in his first mock draft<\/p>\n Anything coming from Peter Schrager is very notable, as he’s as connected as they get in NFL circles and released his first mock draft<\/a> on Tuesday, which featured the Eagles taking a big, physical wide receiver in the first round:<\/p>\n “23. Philadelphia Eagles<\/p>\n Denzel Boston, WR, Washington<\/p>\n Boston is electric, and Washington coach Jedd Fisch and Eagles general manager Howie Roseman are longtime college buddies. Some NFL sources I have spoken to have Boston as the second or third wideout in this class. And if the Eagles take him, A.J. Brown’s future becomes all the more interesting and will undoubtedly hit the A Block on “Get Up” on Friday morning coming out of the draft.”<\/p>\n Denzel Boston is a 22-year-old, big-bodied wide receiver from Washington. He’s 6-4, 212 pounds, and absolutely uses his frame to win matchups. Boston isn’t necessarily a fast or explosive player, but he’s someone who will continually use his size to his advantage.<\/p>\n In terms of the modern-day “X” receiver in the NFL, both Boston and Brown fit into that mold. The Huskies’ wide receiver shares many similarities at the NFL level with someone like Courtland Sutton of the Denver Broncos, but the broad archetype of being a bigger, physical receiver is where Boston and Brown are similar.<\/p>\n
