We’ve seen many options at No. 7 overall schedule a top-30 visit with the Commanders, but a recent prospect could fall to them at No. 71 overall and become an impact starter.

The Washington Commanders have an upcoming top-30 visit with CB Keionte Scott

The Washington Commanders made many new additions during free agency, but now they have six picks to work with to add more in the NFL Draft. The defense is in a much better place, but the secondary still needs to be upgraded. The Commanders have an upcoming top-30 visit with one prospect who can drastically boost their weaknesses and steal a starting spot.

Miami Hurricanes nickel CB Keionte Scott had a visit with the Houston Texans yesterday, and he has a visit with the Washington Commanders and the Chicago Bears coming up.

Source: Miami CB Keionte Scott has a 30-visit with the #Texans today, followed by the #Commanders and #Bears.

The All-ACC performer posted freakish workout numbers: 4.33 40-yard dash and 44-inch vertical — and is considered a potential top-50 pick. pic.twitter.com/xvrvvI2i0s

— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) April 6, 2026

Scott should be on the Commanders’ radar because his playing style fits exactly what they need on defense, especially with Daronte Jones taking over with a new scheme.

Keionte Scott is the perfect fit for the Washington Commanders

The Commanders added Amik Robertson in free agency, where he is likely to play as the nickel corner in Daronte Jones’ defense. That could be in jeopardy, however, if the Commanders find a way to land Scott with the No. 71 overall pick.

Scott is one of the best nickel corners in the NFL Draft and could be an instant playmaker in the NFL. He had 17 coverage stops in 2025, which was sixth-best in the country among all corners, but he’s also very physical in the run game as a sure tackler. Scott was the best blitzing corner as well, with 17 pressures and five sacks, which both led the country.

Scott fits what the Commanders want from a playing style standpoint, but he also brings a lot of experience as a prospect who will be 25 before the season, which could also help him fall to No. 71 overall. If the Washington Commanders land Scott, he could easily compete to start in the slot over Robertson next season.

Washington Commanders News

The Washington Commanders make the most of their six picks in the 2026 NFL Draft by taking the best player at No. 7 overall, while taking elite talent to help fill needs to support Jayden Daniels and rebuild the defense.

The Washington Commanders are bringing in one fast-rising 2026 NFL Draft prospect who could be a key addition…

[2069
4955,427,7,2972,6,116984,855,111,2480
0":"post-859303","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-washington-commanders","8":"tag-2026-nfl-draft","9":"tag-commanders","10":"tag-football","11":"tag-miami-hurricanes","12":"tag-nfl","13":"tag-top-30-visit","14":"tag-washington","15":"tag-washington-commanders","16":"tag-washingtoncommanders
["GET
