Kyle Van Noy said he’d like to re-sign with the Ravens.<\/p>\n
The Baltimore Ravens<\/a> still need help with their pass rush, and luckily there is one they know well openly lobbying to re-sign.<\/p>\n Free agent linebacker Kyle Van Noy<\/a> spoke about wanting to return to the Ravens while appearing on Ross Tucker\u2019s podcast<\/a> in an episode that dropped Tuesday.<\/p>\n Van Noy, who just turned 35 last week, spent the past three seasons with the Ravens. He set new career highs for sacks in 2023 (9) and 2024 (12.5), and made his first Pro Bowl in 2024, before falling back with 2.5 sacks last season.<\/p>\n Kyle Van Noy Would \u2018Love to Go Back to the Ravens\u2019<\/p>\n Van Noy has sent mixed messages about his future. He told reporters he is not sure about whether he wants to play in 2026 but then told Tucker that he is all-in to return to the Ravens, if they would sign him.<\/p>\n \u201cI understand I didn\u2019t have my best year, statistically, but I know I can still play football at a high level,\u201d Van Noy Van Noy told Tucker while attending the Super Bowl in Northern California. \u201cI would love to go back to the Ravens, that\u2019s for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n After a bouncing between four teams in his first nine seasons, and winning two Super Bowls for the New England Patriots<\/a>, Van Noy signed with Baltimore\u2019s practice squad in September 2023. He had a huge year for the Ravens, helping them earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC despite playing only 14 games, and earned a two-year contract.<\/p>\n His second season in Baltimore was by far his best. Van Noy had 14 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles while helping the Ravens go 12-5 and win the AFC North.<\/p>\n The Ravens Should Re-Sign Kyle Van Noy<\/p>\n Jesse Minter is a defensive-minded rookie head coach who is replacing a franchise legend in John Harbaugh.<\/p>\n Many in Baltimore know Minter as Harbaugh\u2019s former defensive assistant (2017-20). He also assisted John\u2019s brother Jim Harbaugh the past three seasons with the University of Michigan (2023) and the Los Angeles Chargers<\/a> (2024-25) as defensive coordinator.<\/p>\n But Minter is just eight years older than Van Noy and could use a veteran presence to both foster his culture and also rush the passer. Van Noy was one of the few Ravens players who has won the Super Bowl, and he could serve as a de facto player\/coach\/emotional leader for at least his first season.<\/p>\n Plus, the Ravens could use the pass-rush help. They finished tied for 30th in sacks (30) a season ago, and could still use a cheap, veteran EDGE rusher like Van Noy to complement offseason signing and former Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> superstar EDGE Trey Hendrickson<\/a>.<\/p>\n Van Noy is unlikely to sign during training camp, since veterans usually avoid summer workouts.
