However, former Falcons MVP quarterback Matt Ryan is also involved as “President of Football Operations.”<\/p>\n Exactly who’s in charge is up for debate. The league office doesn’t seem to think it’s Cunningham, otherwise the Chicago Bears would have gotten a couple of compensatory draft picks<\/a> for his departure and promotion.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n In any case, the Falcons’ moves have left observers underwhelmed. The Athletic recently reported<\/a> that most NFL executives are confused by Atlanta’s approach.<\/p>\n It would make sense if Ryan is calling the shots, as the Falcons have re-signed two of his former teammates in wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus and tight end Austin Hooper\u2014neither of whom are going to move the needle.<\/p>\n Overall, Atlanta’s roster doesn’t appear to be any better now than it was at the end of last season.<\/p>\n
