Check out the full conversation on \u201cFootball 301\u201d – and subscribe on Apple Podcasts<\/a>, Spotify<\/a>, YouTube<\/a> or wherever you listen.<\/a><\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n View more<\/p>\n Video Transcript<\/p>\n We have Arvel Reese from Ohio State.<\/p>\n We’ve been kind of locked on that.<\/p>\n I kind of just set it and forget it there because I think Reese is the number two to me, in this draft class after Mendoza.<\/p>\n Seeing some more smoke with David Bailey.<\/p>\n And I will say this, before I kind of slot in Reese at number two, was I have kind of made the argument that he fits in a lot, and we talked about this, a lot of, he fits in more schemes than I think people realize.<\/p>\n I think he, more defenses are versatile these days that use a player like this all over the front seven.<\/p>\n Having said that, Aaron Glenn is one of the coaches that doesn’t use defenders totally like that.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n So if they do go somewhere else, I kinda understand why a- as far as just maybe a scheme fit, but also are you gonna do a scheme fit for your coach that you might fire in six months?<\/p>\n Right.<\/p>\n So we’ll see with what the Jets do, but anything to add on with Reese to the Jets, and then maybe I’ll rattle off the rest of the top 10, and we’ll dive into those guys.<\/p>\n Well, to me, that last part is why you just take Reese, ’cause, uh- Don’t overthink it I mean, hey, hey.<\/p>\n No, no, look, look, I, I, I, I was a fan of the Aaron Glenn hire, but we, we can’t, we can’t say we didn’t see what that was at the, at the end of last year.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n And I, I know that they were tanking, and obviously, like, they traded with Quinn Williams, they traded with Sauce Gardner, and they were looking towards the future.<\/p>\n Yep.<\/p>\n But- Yep not competitive football is not a good sign.<\/p>\n so I would, I, I, I would just take the best player here, and I think that’s Reese.<\/p>\n And I, you know, I’ve, I’ve seen some people say, oh, you know, like, well, he didn’t have, like, a sack or something over the past, their, their final few games this season.<\/p>\n Okay.<\/p>\n But he was still pretty good in those games, though, you know?<\/p>\n Like, because the And it’s funny ’cause I, I A, a player that I, I love and I’ve written about, Reuben Bane, like, he also went- Yeah a long time without a sack during the season.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n But he was still- November really good in those games, you know?<\/p>\n Yeah.<\/p>\n So not, not, it, it’s not the end-all be-all.<\/p>\n and I, I, and I think when you just look at the profile, shoot, like, it, it, it, it, you I said before, and we’ve talked about, you don’t wanna, like, get into these theories like when you do comparisons.<\/p>\n But the only other player that, that kinda c- fits that mold in, in terms of, like, what he’s asked to do at P- at Penn State and, and, how that translates to NFL is, like, Micah Parsons, which is crazy, crazy thing to say.<\/p>\n I, I don’t, I, I wouldn’t, like, predict anyone to be that level of good.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n But I mean, shoot, if you’re the, if that’s the kind of player that, that we’re talking about adding to your defense or, like, the type of player, that, that’s, that’s, like, scheme proof.<\/p>\n Like, do you need a linebacker?<\/p>\n Do you need a pass rusher?<\/p>\n Do you need both?<\/p>\n You can kinda figure it out with whichever, whatever you need him to do, any given week, really.<\/p>\n
