The Cleveland Browns<\/a> kicked off Phase One of their offseason program Tuesday in Berea, and most players showed up with energy and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was a notable exception \u2014 and fans took notice.<\/p>\n The Browns posted video and photos of players arriving<\/a> for the start of offseason workouts, with Shedeur Sanders, Quincy Williams, Mason Graham and others filing into the facility with smiles<\/a>.<\/p>\n Jeudy arrived as well, but the veteran wideout\u2019s demeanor stood out from the rest of the group. The Browns\u2019 No. 1 receiver appeared to mutter \u201cit\u2019s too early in the morning\u201d as he walked in, and his lack of energy didn\u2019t go unnoticed by fans watching online.<\/p>\n \u201cJeudy be throwing the whole vibe off,\u201d one fan wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cGet Jerry out of here with his low energy. Everybody else had positive energy,\u201d another added.<\/p>\n \u201cCan we please trade Jerry. Please!\u201d a third fan posted.<\/p>\n Jerry Jeudy Coming Off Turbulent Season With Browns<\/p>\n It\u2019s not the first time Jeudy\u2019s attitude has drawn scrutiny from the fan base. Last season, Jeudy was caught in a tense sideline exchange with Sanders<\/a> during one of the rookie\u2019s first starts. Both downplayed any lingering issues, saying they addressed it privately.<\/p>\n However, Jeudy also drew criticism for\u00a0<\/a>his short, substance-free media appearances<\/a> near the end of the season, fueling\u00a0questions about his mindset.<\/p>\n He struggled to live up to expectations last season as the team\u2019s clear-cut WR1, recording just 50 receptions for 602 receiving yards and two touchdowns<\/a>. That was a sharp fall from 2024, when he set the Browns\u2019 franchise record with 90 receptions for 1,229 yards and earned his first Pro Bowl selection.<\/p>\n After the Browns\u2019 season-ending win over the Bengals<\/a> in January, Jeudy posted a reflective message on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cSome seasons teach more than they give. Thankful for the growth. Locked in for what\u2019s ahead,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n The post was a signal that Jeudy is ready to put his turbulent campaign behind him and refocus.<\/p>\n Jeudy has two years left on his three-year extension worth $17.5 million a year.<\/p>\n Browns WR Jerry Jeudy Worked Out With Deshaun Watson<\/p>\n Jeudy and Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson trained together in advance of the offseason program<\/a> in Florida. The connection could matter if Watson wins the starting job over Sanders.<\/p>\n Jeudy is slated to maintain his role as the top receiver in the Browns\u2019 offense, although he doesn\u2019t have a ton of competition. That could change with the draft around the corner. The Browns hold picks No. 6 and No. 24 and could add multiple pass-catchers by the end of April.<\/p>\n \u201cI think we can add all across the offense to be honest,\u201d Browns GM Andrew Berry said this offseason<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re really pleased with some of the younger players we have. Jerry is gonna be a big part of it, and we\u2019re pleased with Isaiah [Bond\u2019s] rookie year, but that doesn\u2019t mean we can\u2019t add to the arsenal.\u201d<\/p>\n If that happens, Jeudy\u2019s role \u2014 and his roster spot \u2014 could shrink quickly.
