Since the infamous A.J. Brown trade of 2022, the position group has been a consistent blight on Tennessee’s rosters.

Despite all of the continuous resources poured into attempting to improve the receiver room, the Titans still find themselves with an underwhelming corps heading into their hopeful franchise quarterback’s sophomore season. Even after finding a potential developmental gem in Chimere Dike, signing Wan’Dale Robinson to a noteworthy free agent contract, and retaining Calvin Ridley’s veteran presence, Tennessee has still landed in prime position to add a receiver somewhat early in the 2026 NFL Draft.

<img decoding="async" class="mx-auto d-block" style="margin: 10px;" src="https://www.rawchili.com/nfl/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/ChrisBellAP25326678251892 2.jpg" alt="Louisville wide receiver Chris Bell (0) catches a pass as SMU safety Ahmaad Moses (3) defends in the first half of an NCAA college football game Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, in Dallas. In addition to Ridley fading, Robinson projects primarily as a slot-option and Dike, while probably their best option currently, still has room left to grow before he can be a designated, consistent boundary winner.

The Titans’ Missing X Receiver

This leaves the Titans’ offense with a glaring lack of a stereotypical boundary, X receiver. Thankfully for Tennessee, if it chooses to go a direction other than receiver at fourth-overall, the upcoming Day Two of the draft is projected to be full of potential receiver fits who provide exactly what they need.

The rest of this story is for members

Membership gives you full access to every story on PaulKuharsky.com — Titans analysis, insider reporting, film studies and podcasts.

PK.com readers support independent Titans coverage.

By DREW BEATTY, film analyst Wide receiver has been a position of constant instability for the Titans.
