New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel shared the latest injury update on linebacker Harold Landry III.<\/p>\n

Going into his second season with the New England Patriots, linebacker Harold Landry III<\/a> is looking to have a bounce back campaign. That\u2019s left him to focus on recovering from a knee injury that plagued him throughout the 2025 season.<\/p>\n

Recently, head coach Mike Vrabel addressed that knee injury. In particular, as it related to his drop off in production from his time with the Tennessee Titans.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think anybody that watched tape could see Harold before hurting his knee, and then after,\u201d Vrabel said\u00a0per ESPN.<\/a><\/p>\n

Landry had previously played for Vrabel when the two were both with Tennessee. He was clearly a priority for Vrabel last offseason, and the Patriots brought him in on a three-year, $43.5 million deal. However, he would suffer a knee injury that limited him to 15 games and saw his production drop off when he was on the field. Just in terms of tackles for a loss, Landry had 5 fewer in 2025 than 2024.<\/p>\n

Now, Vrabel has shared the latest on that nagging knee injury. He\u2019d add that Landry\u00a0is \u201cgoing through the rehab process\u201d and \u201cworks his tail off to get back.\u201d<\/p>\n

The New England Patriots won\u2019t begin their offseason program until April 20th. That\u2019s going to give players a few more weeks to get back and on the practice field. However, Harold Landry III has already been spending as much time around the team\u2019s facilities as possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Patriots\u2019 voluntary offseason program begins April 20, but veteran edge rusher Harold Landry III has already been showing up at the team facility every day in recent weeks,\u201d Mike Reiss of ESPN reported.<\/p>\n

Both Landry and Vrabel are going to be hoping that this is more than the first step to getting healthy for the 2026 season. It\u2019s also a step into him growing in his leadership role, particularly as the team looks to replace the pass rush production that\u2019s being lost from K\u2019Lavon Chaisson<\/a>\u2018s departure in free agency.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s Been a Busy Offseason at Linebacker for the Patriots\"New<\/p>\n

The New England Patriots have been making several moves along the defensive side of the ball this offseason. In particular, the linebacker room is going to have a completely new look.<\/p>\n

Most recently, the Patriots moved to release before agreeing to trade Marte Mapu<\/a> to the Houston Texans. Along with Mapu, the teams also exchanged seventh-round picks in that deal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Beyond that move, New England also signed\u00a0Amari Gainer<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Otis Reese<\/a> to futures contracts back in February. Reese, notably, was signed by the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent when Mike Vrabel was the head coach there. Then, in March, the Patriots signed Jesse Luketa<\/a>, Dre\u2019Mont Jones<\/a>, and\u00a0K.J. Britt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

New England also moved on from several different linebackers. Mapu was the most recent of those departures. However, the teams also released\u00a0Anfernee Jennings<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Jahlani Tavai<\/a> back in March.<\/p>\n

There is still time for the Patriots to make a few more moves this offseason. That includes in the upcoming NFL Draft, where the team has 11 picks. Meanwhile, free agency and trades are also still available to New England.<\/p>\n
