Should the Eagles trade up? They certainly have the ammo. And in 2027, they will likely have a few extra compensatory picks (including a third rounder for the loss of Jaelan Phillips), in addition to a full slate of picks otherwise. Although their roster isn\u2019t as good as it was this time last year or during their Super Bowl run in 2024, the Eagles also don\u2019t have many needs at the starting spots relative to other teams around the league. Their needs in this draft are more of the long-term variety, particularly along the offensive line. They feel well-positioned to make an aggressive move up for a player at a premium position, whether that\u2019s an offensive lineman, wide receiver, or edge rusher. But perhaps most importantly, if you were to do a simulated mock draft \u2014 or if you read Eagles mock draft roundups \u2014 the available players are usually not very exciting. So who are the players the Eagles could potentially trade up for? Well, my short list would include Miami OT Francis Mauigoa, Penn State iOL Olaivavega Ioane, Utah OT Spencer Fano, Georgia OT Monroe Freeling, Alabama OL Kadyn Proctor, and Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the NFL Owners Meetings in Arizona last week, Jeffrey Lurie made it known that the Eagles are exploring options for their future home, which could see them moving out of Lincoln Financial Field within the next decade. Their lease for the stadium ends in 2032. While Lurie didn\u2019t say anything definitive about his plans, the topic will own heat up in the next couple of years. Setting aside the debate that will eventually rage on about the possibility of public money being used for the stadium or Lurie\u2019s non-committal stance last week about the team even remaining in South Philadelphia, which has been the site of the team\u2019s home games for 55 years, I continue to find myself believing this type of undertaking is ultimately unnecessary.<\/p>\n
1) Offensive line. It\u2019s time for the Eagles to restock their offensive line. Health up front was one of their biggest issues in 2025 with Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens and Lane Johnson all dealing with various injuries. The Eagles haven\u2019t drafted an offensive lineman in the first round since 2019 and it seems long overdue. Johnson is going to turn 36 next month and is entering his Year 14 season so it\u2019s time to find his long-term replacement at right tackle. The Eagles could also potentially draft a tackle who has the versatility to play inside as well. The only pure guard in the first round is Vega Ioane, but guys like Spencer Fano and Kadyn Proctor could potentially play inside. There are a bunch of other guys who could be available for the Eagles: Monroe Freeling from Georgia, Blake Miller from Clemson, Max Iheanachor from Arizona State, Caleb Lomu from Utah. If the Eagles draft one of those tackles, they might sit for a year but it would be worth it to find Johnson\u2019s long-term replacement.<\/p>\n

The Orlovsky family had never been to an event like the S.T.E.M. Clinic, put together through a collaborative effort with Bentley Systems, but they wanted to attend so Madden Orlovsky, a teenager who has autism, could have that experience. It was a special time for the family, who got to see Madden thrive in a stress-free environment, surrounded by a strong support staff.<\/p>\n

A power strider at 6-foot-2, 222 pounds, Bell (Louisville) has the physical profile to play through contact at multiple levels of the field, creating explosive plays with his legs. He averaged 17.1 yards per catch in 2024 and could go as high as the second round — just as Brown did in 2019.<\/p>\n
The entire NFL is abuzz regarding a new report from Page Six of the New York Post regarding Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini, who covers the NFL for The Athletic. Before going any farther, I\u2019ll say this: Coaches and reporters are entitled to lead their own private lives. Personal business is only the business of the persons involved. However, both Vrabel and Russini have given comments to the Post. Once that happens, a private matter becomes inherently public.<\/p>\n
Given these scenarios, Dallas should be looking at adding at least one potential starter at ILB ahead of the draft. We know they tried with Nakobe Dean and apparently others, based on comments from the front office and Coach Schottenheimer, but either got outbid or simply not chosen. Now that we\u2019re in April, the free agent pool has dwindled. But consolation prizes like Bobby Wagner or Bobby Okereke would still go a long way to filling the hole, even if they don\u2019t turn ILB into a strength.<\/p>\n
Based on his previous experience in Brian Flores\u2019 hyper-aggressive, exotic scheme, we might expect Jones\u2019 wish list to include versatile secondary players with plus athleticism and the ability to make plays in all phases on defense. Lucky for him, this draft class is loaded with prospects who fit the spec. To identify safety prospects who might appeal to the Commanders, I screened the draft class using the same advanced stats as in the previous round-ups. But the diversity of roles under the \u201csafety\u201d umbrella required some extra attention to the coverage metrics. The following section goes through the rationale in depth, and might be too much detail for many readers. The key takeaway is that coverage metrics differ between nickel backs and other safeties. Coverage assignment must be taken into account to avoid reaching incorrect conclusions about coverage performance.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s a third takeaway from the odds: There\u2019s a pretty good chance the Giants will take a Buckeye at Pick 5. Reese will probably be gone, but at least of two of Styles, Downs, and Tate should be there, and all three are among the top overall prospects in this draft, at positions that would be a good marriage of value and need. One final thought: If Love is there, he\u2019ll be tempting. He\u2019s the first or second rated player in this draft for most \u201cexperts\u201d, and even though he plays a position that isn\u2019t a \u201cpremium\u201d one for draft and NFL compensation purposes, he\u2019ll be the best player available on most teams\u2019 boards until his name is called. I don\u2019t think New York\u2019s brain-trust will go in that direction, given the positional value and most pressing team needs, but I\u2019ve been wrong about this stuff before.<\/p>\n
Five years is plenty of time to evaluate a draft class, and hoo boy is there a lot of room to correct what happened in 2021. It was a year of desperate quarterback reaches, mammoth busts at a variety of positions, and a plethora of teams that simply screwed up the process \u2014 but also gave us some of the best talent in all of the NFL. Now\u2019s our chance to right the wrongs of the past and re-draft the first round from 2021.<\/p>\n
