Star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence requested a trade, and every single team in the league would love to have a player like him on the roster. A first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft<\/a>, the Clemson product has been one of the game\u2019s top interior defenders ever since he entered the league. While the nature of his position means he doesn\u2019t always light up the stat sheet, anyone who\u2019s watched a Giants game over the last few years can tell you just how dominant he can be.<\/p>\n

The three-time Pro Bowler has recorded 30.5 sacks through his seven-year career and finished the 2025 season with a 75.6 PFF grade, the 11th-best mark in the league out of 127 eligible players. Now entering his age-29 season, Dexter Lawrence should have a few more strong seasons in his tank, and\u00a0Bleacher Report\u2018s Moe Moton<\/a> believes the Jacksonville Jaguars should trade for him.<\/p>\n

In a recent article, the NFL analyst made his case for Jacksonville trading a second-round pick and veteran Arik Armstead to the Giants for Lawrence\u2019s services.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Jaguars gave up the fewest rushing yards in 2025, but they need a boost in their interior pass rush,\u201d Moton writes. \u201cArmstead logged 5.5 sacks in the first 11 weeks of the previous season, but he didn\u2019t record any thereafter in a quiet finish to the campaign\u2026In Jacksonville, Lawrence would line up alongside DaVon Hamilton, who\u2019s a solid run-stopper.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jaguars, Giants Connected In Dexter Lawrence Trade Rumors<\/p>\n

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a team on the rise, and it\u2019s easy to see why they\u2019d want to trade for Dexter Lawrence. After a relatively slow start to the 2025 season, Liam Coen\u2019s squad came alive down the stretch as Trevor Lawrence started playing his best football<\/a>. The former first-overall pick guided the team to a 13-4 record and the AFC South crown. While they went one-and-done in the playoffs, it\u2019s safe to assume this team has a bright future.<\/p>\n

The biggest question is whether or not they\u2019d be willing to trade a second-round pick for Dexter Lawrence. Getting rid of Armstead is probably an easy decision, as he\u2019s out of guaranteed money and the team could save $14.5 million in cap space by parting ways with him after June 1st. However, the team gave up a haul for the right to select wide receiver\/cornerback Travis Hunter<\/a> last year, and they might want to preserve all of their remaining draft picks.<\/p>\n

Of course, it takes two to tango, so would the Giants agree to a move like this?<\/p>\n

John Harbaugh\u2019s Giants<\/p>\n

The New York Giants have not had a winning season since 2022 and have only made the playoffs once since that ill-fated boat trip a decade ago. However, while this team probably won\u2019t win the Super Bowl next year, they have plenty of reasons to feel good about the 2026 campaign. Quarterback Jaxson Dart<\/a> had a promising rookie campaign, Malik Nabers should return<\/a> to the lineup, and head coach John Harbaugh should be an upgrade on Brian Daboll.<\/p>\n

This team could make the playoffs if things break their way, and losing Dexter Lawrence will make them worse in the short term. If the Giants could get a first-round pick for his services, they might pull the trigger.
