Les Snead and Sean McVay both confirmed that the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> and Philadelphia Eagles discussed a potential trade involving A.J. Brown<\/a>. The Rams explored trading for him \u2013 and subsequently, trading away Davante Adams \u2013\u00a0but a deal never came to fruition.<\/p>\n It was previously reported by Dianna Russini of The Athletic that the Rams and Patriots both made \u201cstrong pushes\u201d<\/a> for Brown, but on Wednesday, ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter went a step further.<\/p>\n He reported that the Rams and Eagles were \u201cfurther along at one point than people realized,\u201d an indication of just how close Los Angeles came to striking a deal for Brown. Schefter was even waiting to report it because he thought it was going to get done.<\/p>\n \u201cThe way I do my job is I weigh in when there are things that matter and when there\u2019s news,\u201d Schefter said on 97.5 The Fanatic. \u201cThere have been plenty of trade talks that have gone on that I\u2019ve known about. Let\u2019s put it this way, how about this? The Eagles and Rams were further along at one point than people realized. Was that out there? Was that out there? Was Dianna on that? Were other people on that? I don\u2019t know, but it was and at one point, I remember thinking, \u2018Boy, there\u2019s a chance it\u2019s gonna get done with the Rams.\u2019 And I was waiting to report it, and it didn\u2019t get done.\u201d<\/p>\n Had the Rams acquired Brown from the Eagles, they would\u2019ve moved on from Adams. After his $6 million bonus became guaranteed last month, the Rams are bound to keep Adams through 2026 rather than trading him away after just one season.
