NATCHITOCHES \u2013 Northwestern State’s Myion Hicks<\/a> (RB) and Tyler Lewis<\/a> (DL) were among the record-breaking members of the 2026 National Football Foundation’s annual list of Hampshire Honor Society honorees announced on Wednesday.
\n\u00a0
\nHicks and Lewis are the 11th\u00a0and 12th\u00a0Demons to be recognized by the Hampshire Honor Society and the first since Kaleb Fletcher in 2023.
\n\u00a0
\nHicks started six games and played in 10 total games in his first season with NSU after transferring from Furman. He led the Demons with 311 rushing yards on 78 carries and rushed the ball 10 or more times in three different games. He ran for a season-high 69 yards at Houston Christian on Oct. 11, adding a season-high three catches for 32 yards and 101 all-purpose yards in the game.

\nHis 51-yard jaunt in the season opener against Alcorn State was the longest rush of the season for the Demons.
\n\u00a0
\nLewis played in four games, making one start at Prairie View A&M, before suffering a knee injury that ended his season. He made eight tackles during his four games played including four at Minnesota.
\n\u00a0
\nAfter his injury, Lewis worked the remainder of the season with the defensive staff and was in the coaching booth on game days.
\n\u00a0
\nThe NFF Hampshire Honor Society\u00a0is chosen annually and comprised of college football players from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA and sprint football who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers.\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nCelebrating its 20th\u00a0anniversary, the NFF Hampshire Honor Society has recognized 23,568 student-athletes from 691 schools since 2007. The 2026 class, which includes a record 2,596 players from 365 schools, represents the largest group in the program’s history underscoring the sustained academic achievement taking place across all levels of college football

\nThere were 497 student-athletes recognized across the FCS ranks with the Southland Conference’s East Texas A&M leading all programs with 20 honorees.
