The Minnesota Vikings<\/a> have addressed the QB concern by signing Kyler Murray and re-signing Carson Wentz, who will compete with J.J. McCarthy for the starting job. However, there are other issues with the Vikings\u2019 offense, including the lack of an RB1. <\/p>\n Neither Aaron Jones Sr. nor Jordan Mason hit over 1,000 yards rushing last season. As a result, Minnesota needs to find a running back who can elevate the running game and help the passing attack. <\/p>\n With the 2026 NFL<\/a> Draft on April 23, the Vikings could draft a running back with the potential to be an RB1, or they could go the trade route. FOX Sports\u2019 Ralph Vacchiano floated a trade idea involving the Vikings, Miami Dolphins<\/a>, and De\u2019Von Achane.<\/p>\n The NFL columnist and reporter could see the Vikings sending a 2026 third-round pick (82nd) and a fifth-round pick (163rd) for Achane. <\/p>\n \u201cThe Vikings brought back Aaron Jones, but he\u2019s 31 and constantly battling injuries,\u201d Vacchiano wrote in his April 8 article<\/a>. \u201cAnd while he\u2019s a good receiver out of the backfield, Achane is a great one, a much faster and more dynamic player overall and seven years younger (24). The Dolphins<\/a> say they want to keep him after he ran for 1,350 yards and caught 67 passes for 488 yards last season. <\/p>\n \u201cBut they have the look of a team undergoing a fire sale, so surely they have their price. Achane will need a contract extension, so maybe a third-round pick and change will do it. The Dolphins would be crazy to say no for a second-rounder.\u201d<\/p>\n What Would De\u2019Von Achane Bring to the Vikings<\/p>\n Last season with the Dolphins,\u00a0Achane earned an overall PFF grade of 89.2<\/a>, ranking first among 55 qualified running backs. His 91.0 rushing grade also led the group.<\/p>\n Furthermore, he carried the ball 238 times for 1,350 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 5.7 yards per attempt. Achane forced 49 missed tackles and averaged 4.1 yards after contact per carry, showing his effectiveness between the tackles. As a receiver, he caught 67 of 85 targets for 488 yards and four touchdowns.<\/p>\n Draft Prospect Jadarian Price Open to Playing for Minnesota<\/p>\n As for a potential draft target, there\u2019s one player who would be open to starting his NFL career with the Vikings. During a\u00a0March 18th appearance on \u201cUp & Adams,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0former\u00a0Notre Dame Fighting Irish<\/a>\u00a0running back Jadarian Price was asked about Minnesota being a potential landing spot for him in the upcoming draft. <\/p>\n \u201cMinnesota, huh? I think that\u2019d be nice,\u201d Price told Adams. \u201cKyler Murray, Texas boy, shout out Texas. But yeah, I think that would be pretty cool.\u201d<\/p>\n Although Price was the Fighting Irish\u2019s second option behind Jeremiyah Love, he made a strong impact in 2025. He earned a 78.6 overall PFF grade<\/a>, placing him 122nd out of 406 qualified running backs. His rushing grade of 79.9 ranked 157th among the same group.<\/p>\n On the ground, Price carried the ball 113 times for 674 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging six yards per carry.
