The Green Bay Packers were one of at least seven NFL teams to attend the workout of Iowa State defensive lineman Domonique Orange on Tuesday, according to reporting from Tony Pauline<\/a>. “Big Citrus” made the trip worthwhile.<\/p>\n

Orange, a potential target for the Packers on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL draft, missed most of the pre-draft process due to a quad injury. But given a chance to show his athleticism on Tuesday, Orange delivered.<\/p>\n

Per Pauline, Orange (6-2, 321) ran the 40-yard dash in 5.15 seconds, with a 1.68-second 10-yard split, though he felt some tightness in his hamstring late in the run. He also hit 31.5″ in the vertical leap, completed 27 reps on the bench press and completed the short shuttle in 4.65 seconds.<\/p>\n

Given these test numbers, Orange would have a Relative Athletic Score of 8.78 out of 10.0.<\/p>\n

Two numbers stand out: a 31.5″ vertical, which showcased excellent lower body power for a 321-pounder, and a 1.68-second 10-yard split, which showcased impressive short-area quickness. Both are important measurables for a nose tackle.<\/p>\n

And his movement ability stood out for observers.<\/p>\n

From Pauline: “Orange moved exceptionally well during drills, especially laterally, proving he\u2019s more than just an up-the-field gap occupier. His ability to bend and adjust was also impressive.”<\/p>\n

The Packers need help along the defensive interior, and Orange — who played over 1,000 career snaps lining up against the A-gap in the 3-3-5 defense during his collegiate career — looks like an ideal fit as a nose tackle in Jonathan Gannon’s defense. He’s a potential option for Green Bay at No. 52 overall in the second round or at No. 84 overall in the third round.<\/p>\n

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com<\/a> called Orange “a sturdy nose tackle capable of muddying the middle of the field with his first-step quickness and take-on power.”<\/p>\n

While taking a nose tackle who might have to come off the field on passing downs might not be the ideal use of draft resources, Orange would fill an immediate need in Green Bay.<\/p>\n

Pauline also reported that Orange has at least five pre-draft visits scheduled, including visits with the rival Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n
