The Washington Commanders<\/a> are entering a defining season for Jayden Daniels, which is odd to say considering it is Year 3.<\/p>\n

With one great year and one not-so-great year, what Daniels are we going to get? Granted, last season was ruined by injuries.<\/p>\n

Many have cited the need for Washington to get a running mate for Terry McLaurin, given he is the only top weapon on the roster, but where could the Commanders look?<\/p>\n

Fox Sports’ Ralph Vacchiano has an idea that on draft night, Washington sends a 2026 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> for DK Metcalf.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe idea of the Steelers trading him all depends on what happens with Aaron Rodgers, and whether Pittsburgh goes for it all in 2026 or goes into a rebuilding mode,\u201d Vacchiano wrote<\/a>. \u201cAnd Metcalf was a bit of a disappointment last season with just 59 catches for 850 yards and six touchdowns as Rodgers struggled to find him downfield.<\/p>\n

“He\u2019d have better luck with the younger, stronger Jayden Daniels throwing him the ball. And the Commanders are desperate for a WR opposite Terry McLaurin.\u201d<\/p>\n

Could Metcalf move?<\/p>\n

I don’t see it, at least right now.<\/p>\n

But if Aaron Rodgers doesn’t return, then who knows? Let’s not forget that the Steelers only signed Metcalf last offseason, so a one-and-done with him doesn’t seem likely.<\/p>\n

Still, if the Commanders come knocking with Vacchiano’s proposal, I am interested to see what the Steelers would do, considering they’ve already signed Michael Pittman Jr.<\/p>\n

It does feel like a long shot, but Metcalf and McLaurin together would give Daniels one of the better receiver tandems in football. Yes, giving up a first-rounder isn’t ideal, but Metcalf could open up a lot of things for an offense that desperately needs to show something in 2026.<\/p>\n
