The Cleveland Browns<\/a> have probably gotten their money\u2019s worth after trading fifth-round and sixth-round picks for wide receiver Jerry Jeudy<\/a> two years ago, but his tenure with the team has never been overly smooth.<\/p>\n

A former first-round selection of the Denver Broncos<\/a>, Jeudy never lived up to his draft position across four seasons in Colorado. He put up career highs of 90 receptions for 1,229 yards<\/a> during a Pro Bowl campaign with the Browns in 2024, adding four touchdowns along the way.<\/p>\n

That production earned Jeudy a three-year contract worth $52.5 million<\/a> from Cleveland, which runs through 2027. However, Jeudy took a step back last season with just 50 catches for 602 yards and two scores and had some bumps along the way with rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders<\/a>, which became evident to all via mid-game altercations<\/a> on the sidelines.<\/p>\n

Jeudy\u2019s body language and general demeanor garnered more criticism, mostly from fans, for how he entered team facilities on Tuesday, April 7. The Browns posted video of their players coming in for the opening work of the offseason, and while Sanders wore his trademark smile and others brought an energetic vibe, Jeudy appeared far less excited to be there.<\/p>\n

The wideout grumbled under his breath about Cleveland\u2019s social media team greeting him at the door, appearing to complain that it was too early in the morning for an interaction with that group.<\/p>\n

There is not an overt reason to keep Jeudy on the roster given his minimal production last season, and his history of such for most of his career, combined with the tension that seemingly exists between the wideout and Sanders \u2014 the presumed starting QB heading into the preseason.<\/p>\n

Most draft analysts expect Cleveland to select a receiver with the No. 6 overall pick in the NFL<\/a> draft later this month, which will likely mean Jeudy falls to the No. 2 role in the WR room and No. 3 on the list of all pass-catchers behind whoever the Browns select in the top 10 and 2025 third-round tight end Harold Fannin Jr<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Given that new head coach Todd Monken<\/a> is looking to remake much of the offense this season and turn the corner into a new regime, Ralph Vacchiano of FOX Sports authored a trade proposal earlier this week that would reunite Jeudy with Kevin Stefanski<\/a> in Atlanta and see Cleveland bring back the No. 48 pick in the second round as a result.<\/p>\n

Stefanski was the head coach in Cleveland when the team dealt for Jeudy in 2024, so the Falcons<\/a> are presumably a team that might have interest in the wideout entering his age-27 campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cJeudy had a terrible season last year, but in 2024 he caught 90 passes for 1,229 yards with Jameis Winston, Deshaun Watson, Dorian Thompson-Robinson<\/a> and Bailey Zappe throwing him the ball,\u201d Vacchiano wrote<\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019d be a huge help for No. 1 WR Drake London with Tua Tagovailoa and\/or Michael Penix Jr. behind center.\u201d<\/p>\n

A second-round pick reads like quite the haul for a player coming off a campaign such as the one Jeudy produced in 2025, but if the Browns can get anywhere near that, it is a move general manager Andrew Berry<\/a> shouldn\u2019t have to think about too long or too hard before pouncing.<\/p>\n
