Los Angeles Rams<\/a> general manager Les Snead<\/a> has already drawn his line in the sand regarding potential draft trades, and the latest news making rounds in league circles bodes well for sticking with that plan.<\/p>\n

It could also lead to the Rams deciding to bolster their group similarly to last season during the draft.<\/p>\n

LA has already been aggressive this offseason.<\/p>\n

Rams Loom as Prime Trade Candidate\"Les<\/p>\n

Snead and the Rams could be among the beneficiaries around the league of what Fox Sports\u2019 Jordan Schultz reported is expected to be \u201cone of the more trade-heavy drafts in recent memory.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSpecifically, on the defensive side of the ball \u2014 EDGE, CB and LB are all strong\/deep \u2014 while WR is typically considered to be the most talented offensive position,\u201d Fox Sports\u2019 Jordan Schultz reported<\/a> in a post on X on April 8. \u201cSeveral executives I\u2019ve spoken with believe we\u2019re likely to see a flurry of activity in the first half of Round 1.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdditionally, because this specific draft lacks depth in the later rounds, many teams plan to pursue extra Day 2 and early Day 3 picks, per league sources.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rams\u2019 first pick is No. 13, courtesy of last year\u2019s draft-day trade with the Atlanta Falcons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They are not slated to go back on the clock until the 61st overall pick. They have one other pick in the top-100 slots, Pick No. 93. That alone could make them a prime candidate to trade back with one of their top two selections.<\/p>\n

According to DraftTek<\/a>, the 13th overall pick is worth 1,150 points, while the 61st pick is worth 292 points. Both could fetch the Rams multiple picks in later rounds.<\/p>\n

LA also lacks picks in the fourth and fifth rounds, but has three seventh-round selections.<\/p>\n

Les Snead Prepared to Make a Trade\"Les<\/p>\n

Snead spoke candidly about his and the Rams\u2019 willingness to move around in the draft. They traded out of Round 1 last year. He also suggested the 13th pick is off-limits.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I were being realistic, more than likely we don\u2019t move up, because the price point to move up, depending on how the thing goes, you always go, can you as you go in your situation,\u201d Snead said at the annual owners meeting, per TheRams.com\u2019s Stu Jackson<\/a> in March.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it\u2019s, oh, some of the players that come in right now, they\u2019re gone, maybe you could move back. That would be the strategy, collect more picks if that\u2019s a possibility. And then I would say also, I doubt we use that for a veteran player. We\u2019ve kind of saved that pick because it is 13. We haven\u2019t picked this low, high, whatever you want to call it, in the lot. So that\u2019s where we\u2019re at.\u201d<\/p>\n

This will be the Rams\u2019 highest pick since they owned the No. 1 overall selection in 2016.<\/p>\n

The Rams\u2013who had the No. 1 offense, the MVP in Matthew Stafford<\/a>, a top-10 defense, and came within a game of the Super Bowl this past season\u2013used that pick on quarterback Jared Goff<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jared Verse<\/a>, taken 19th overall in 2024, is the Rams\u2019 highest pick since then. He is a two-time Pro Bowler and was the 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year. That underscores Snead\u2019s confidence that the Rams will find a good player, regardless of where they ultimately pick.<\/p>\n
