The Arizona Cardinals kicked off their offseason program on Tuesday, and announced two roster moves that were formalities. Kicker Joshua Karty and defensive lineman P.J. Mustipher both signed their one-year tenders as exclusive rights free agents.<\/p>\n
Exclusive rights free agents are players with less than three credited seasons whose contract expired. If a team offers them a tender, their only option is to sign it or not play. They cannot sign elsewhere.<\/p>\n
The Cardinals chose not to tender one exclusive rights free agent \u2014 tight end Travis Vokolek. Vokolek suffered a season-ending neck injury in Week 5. We can assume he wasn’t tendered because he isn’t healthy.<\/p>\n
Karty was signed from the Los Angeles Rams’ practice squad late last season but never played a game for the Cardinals. In eight games for the Rams last season, he made 10-of-15 field goals and 23-of-26 extra points.<\/p>\n
He will compete for the kicking job for the Cardinals with Chad Ryland, who was also re-signed this offseason.<\/p>\n

He had 32 tackles, a tackle for loss and a tipped pass.
