The Rams are picking much earlier than usual at 13th overall, so it’s fair that fans are excited about the top pick.

Who should the Rams target at pick #93 in the third?

16 targets within the range of #93

NFL consensus boards are a recent invention and are imperative to predicting draft outcomes and measuring whether teams reach or find bargains. Let’s take 15 players around the Rams’ pick at 93rd overall according to NFL Mock Draft Database and then further analyze the most intriguing options.

Most Rams fans probably would like to see the team take a receiver before the third round. LA cannot control how the board falls to them and would be wise to stick to best player available after they patched most of their holes in free agency. With that said, the receiver position probably has the most playing time up for grabs and a rookie could be well-suited to make a day one impact.

The three WR’s from this list are all intriguing names. Bell is an aggressive ball winner. Bryce Lance is a gifted athlete and big target. I watched a lot of Deion Burks because of an infatuation with QB John Mateer, and Burks consistency flashed at Oklahoma. His overall production should be a concern related to his ceiling at the NFL level.

This doesn’t seem to be a pressing need for the Rams, though if the board brings you a wealth of options you may need to stay true. Kam Curl and Quentin Lake just signed new deals. Kamren Kinchens has two years left on his rookie deal. LA has been successful in identifying later round and undrafted talent that can contribute on defense and special teams. However, Kinchens is proof that if they draft a safety earlier than normal than can acquire a better player than they usually put on the field at this position.

LA has a numbers problem at corner, although they’ve shored up their starting lineup by adding Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson. Emmanuel Forbes is only one injury away from a first-string spot on the depth chart, and the Rams don’t want that. They need to continue to add bodies at this position and groom a future starter so they can eventually get cheaper at the position.

Muhammed is 6-0, 190 lbs. That fits the Rams’ usual size preference at corner. He doesn’t get penalized often and excels in off coverage.

Neal is a bigger player at 6-1, 206 lbs. and still runs a 4.49 40-yard dash. He completed every drill at the combine which few players can claim. Experience and quality of experience are both questions for the former Fresno State transfer. Neal has just 16 starts at the college level.

Do you feel like we’ve talked the Los Angeles Rams’ first round pick to death?
