As we get closer to the NFL Draft, most people in the know have a rough idea of what teams are thinking when it comes to their first-round picks, but the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> remain a mystery.<\/p>\n

With Andy Reid and general manager Brett Veach overseeing a soft reset of the roster, armed with two first-round selections, the Chiefs can go in any direction they want at No. 9.<\/p>\n

Some think running back, others tight end or pass rusher, and in truth, all of those options are on the table for Kansas City.<\/p>\n

But for ESPN’s Matt Miller, he’s not gotten anything definitive on Kansas City’s plans.<\/p>\n

“In talking to sources both in Kansas City and around the league, there seems to be no strong indicator of where the Chiefs will go with either of their first-round picks,” Miller wrote<\/a>. “The Chiefs will see how the board falls and have needs at core positions such as offensive tackle, wide receiver, edge rusher, defensive tackle and cornerback. A hot name to watch at corner is Jermod McCoy\u00a0(Tennessee) … if he makes it to No. 9.”<\/p>\n

Chiefs a draft mystery<\/p>\n

The fact that they have two first-round picks helps that as well.<\/p>\n

With so many options available at No. 9 and a host of needs, you can pick several players who the Chiefs could target. The same goes for their second first-round pick as well.<\/p>\n

So, the Chiefs appear to be keeping things close to the vest as the draft approaches, not wanting to tip their hand in any direction.<\/p>\n

Needing starters on both sides of the ball, just which way the Chiefs will go is anyone’s guess, and right now, that is all people have regarding Kansas City’s approach…a guess.<\/p>\n
