Joe is guessing these signings are strictly for special teams.\u00a0The Bucs yesterday, per Adam Schefter of BSPN, signed veteran Kemon Hall<\/a>, a cornerback by trade. Later, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported the Bucs signed fellow corner Chase Lucas<\/a>.<\/p>\n Don\u2019t worry if you don\u2019t know the names. Despite Hall entering the league in 2019 and Lucas entering the league in 2022, neither has started an NFL game.<\/p>\n Last year Hall played for one of the most talentless teams in the NFL: Tennessee. In the offseason, the Titans hired defensive guru Mr. Clean to be their head coach and he apparently wanted to wipe the slate clean of Hall.<\/p>\n In three of his seven years in the league, Hall has been a practice squad guy. In only one season has he played in more than six games; that was 2021 \u201316 games for the Chargers.<\/p>\n Hall has played lots of special teams.<\/p>\n Same with Lucas. At least with Lucas, he was on a playoff team, San Francisco. Lucas played in 15 games last year with just over double the snaps on special teams as Lucas had on defense.<\/p>\n If Joe had to guess, Lucas would see the field as a corner before Hall.<\/p>\n These signings again demonstrate the Bucs are placing a lot of effort beefing up a truly sorry special teams unit in 2025 (there was nothing sorry about kicker Chase McLaughlin, the lone bright spot for the 2025 Bucs not-so-special teams).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Special Teams Build Up Continues April 10th, 2026 New Bucs CB Chase Lucas.
