Like last week\u2019s article<\/a>, it\u2019s time to go back and hold myself accountable for how well I did in predicting the rookie seasons for the 2025 draft class for our Seattle Seahawks. There will be links to the original articles along with an excerpt of the actual predictions.<\/p>\n

Time to get to the rest of the 2025 draft class.<\/p>\n

Tory Horton might be something special, you guys. I was right that he would be a massive upgrade in the punt return department, and that Marquez Valdes-Scantling might be on his way out. Horton outperformed my TD mark, but fell short yardage-wise.<\/p>\n

Six total touchdowns in eight games, with two coming in the final one before his season-ending injury? That would be a damn good stat line for a receiver drafted in the first few rounds let alone a fifth-round pick. I think I forgot just how fun Tory Horton was prior to his injury. Issues. Yes, those are scary considering he dealt with them throughout college. However, I\u2019m willing to hope that he\u2019ll be healed up come the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

What role will Horton have in 2026? We\u2019ve never seen him and Rashid Shaheed on the field at the same time, as Horton\u2019s injury coincided with the trade for Shaheed, who was re-signed this offseason<\/a>. Horton is a fantastic punt returner, but Shaheed is a legit first-team All-Pro returner who showcased those abilities throughout his half season with the Seahawks, and quite possibly saved the Seahawks season with his punt return TD against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football which brought Seattle back into the game they eventually won. Having two elite speed demons on the field at the same time with possibly the reigning Offensive Player of the Year in Jaxon Smith-Njigba?<\/p>\n

Well, Ouzts lived up to the fan favorite part of my prediction!<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Ouzts suffered a neck injury late in the season that kept him out a number of games. Seattle started to run the ball well without him on the field, so I hope that doesn\u2019t impact his future. New offensive coordinator Brian Fleury comes from the Shanahan system which utilizes a fullback\u2026hopefully we get to see more pancakes from Ouzts in the future!<\/p>\n

Cabeldue did in fact make the roster as the Seahawks traded away Michael Jerrell<\/a>. He didn\u2019t play many snaps, only being active for eight games, but the team seems to be high on him. This preseason will be a big chance for Cabeldue to cement his position as a reserve lineman on the roster.<\/p>\n

The fact that I\u2019m showing a transactions log is never a good sign. Martinez looked tentative and slow in the preseason, getting outplayed by George Holani and even Jacardia Wright. As a result, he was released and bounced on and off the practice squad. Martinez was signed by the Green Bay Packers towards the end of the season on their practice squad and has a chance to stick with them this offseason. Big miss by me.<\/p>\n

Mason Richman did make the roster along with fellow rookies Grey Zabel (not surprising) and Bryce Cabeldue (more surprising), likely because of the previously mentioned Michael Jerrell trade. I was wrong about that. You know what I was right about, though?<\/p>\n

Richman seeing time at center is only going to benefit him. He was listed as a Tackle\/Guard when he was inactive for the Super Bowl, but having experience at center will be huge. If Richman can truly learn those three positions, he has a chance to stick around as the ultimate swing offensive lineman for the Seahawks.<\/p>\n

Hey, another one where I was right! White didn\u2019t make the roster, but was on the practice squad all season and received a few game elevations. With the recent departure of special teams standout Dareke Young, Ricky White III has a real chance to make the roster in 2026 which would make my prediction look even better.<\/p>\n

Not that bad of a year for the predictions, if I do say so myself. I won\u2019t pat myself on the back too hard, however, because we\u2019re nearly to the 2026 NFL Draft which will give me another chance to prove myself completely wrong.
