Most of those guys are his former teammates. He hates the Birds because he got his ass kicked twice, once in the 2023 NFC Championship game (2 tackles, 1 QB hit) and once in the 2025 Super Bowl (3 tackles, 1 TFL). [BLG Note: Lol.]<\/p>\n
At offensive tackle, the Eagles have one of the best duos in the NFL with Jordan Mailata manning the left side and Lane Johnson on the right. Johnson is nearing the end of his career, and age (he turns 36 in May) is showing itself in the form of injuries. The future Hall of Famer is a great player still when he\u2019s on the field, but his lack of availability was a problem last year. This tackle class is quite deep with quality players across the top 100. The Eagles could opt to draft Johnson\u2019s heir in the first round or play the waiting game. Here are the best tackles in the class.<\/p>\n
1) Monroe Freeling, OT, Georgia | Consensus big board ranking: 16th. Freeling was a popular projection to the Eagles at pick 23 earlier this offseason, but there\u2019s little chance he\u2019ll make it that far after crushing the Combine. In pass pro, Freeling has excellent feet, and can easily mirror\/match opposing pass rushers. In the run game, he can execute difficult reach blocks, he\u2019s effective on combo blocks, and he has the athleticism to track down linebackers and defensive backs in space down the field. He also has some nastiness to his game, and experience playing LT and RT. I hadn\u2019t watched Freeling until his explosive Combine performance, but he is really good and the Eagles are certain to have interest. The downside is that Freeling is inexperienced, as he has just 17 career starts. However, he improved significantly throughout the 2025 season and played his best football down the stretch. He has the highest upside of any offensive tackle prospect in this draft, in my opinion, and is an extremely logical eventual replacement for Lane Johnson. In order to land Freeling, the Eagles would likely have to trade up, which as noted recently Howie Roseman has done seven times in the first round, typically with success.<\/p>\n
Friday, April 10: A trend of note as reports of the Eagles\u2019 pre-draft visits trickle in: the majority have been offensive linemen to this point, including tackles Caleb Lomu of Utah and Max Iheanachor of Arizona State. The Eagles had an uncharacteristically down year along the front in 2025, due in large part to lingering health issues. A pair of standouts in right tackle Lane Johnson and left guard Landon Dickerson pondered retirement this offseason. Given those factors and Philadelphia\u2019s organizational philosophy of building from the inside-out, it\u2019s fair to assume the Eagles will invest some resources in the trenches later this month. They have done a strong job of evaluating and developing linemen in the past but are now operating without Jeff Stoutland, the venerable offensive line coach who was heavily involved in Philly\u2019s draft process over the last decade-plus. Will the hit rate dip in his absence?<\/p>\n
Eagles\u2019 biggest draft goal: Water the edge farm. After losing Josh Sweat and Jaelan Phillips over the last two offseasons, Vic Fangio\u2019s defense looks light on the edges. Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt have both flashed ability, but the Eagles\u2019 edge group lacks the kind of bite we\u2019ve come to expect from true contenders. Top prospects like Arvell Reese, David Bailey and Rueben Bain Jr. will be long gone by the time Philadelphia comes on the board, but the 23rd pick could be a sweet spot for a number of intriguing-albeit-imperfect edges like Akheem Mesidor (just turned 25), Cashius Howell (short arms), T.J. Parker (production drop-off in 2025) and Keldric Faulk (undeveloped pass-rushing plan).<\/p>\n
1st Round, No. 23: Caleb Lomu, OT, Utah. Lomu, who is ranked Brugler\u2019s No. 25 overall player, played two years at Utah and was a standout left tackle both seasons (freshman All-American in 2024, first-team All-Big 12 in 2025). He\u2019s 6-foot-6 and 313 pounds with 33 3\/8-inch arms and strong movement skills at the position. Top tackle Spencer Fano moved to the right side to accommodate Lomu. He\u2019s raw and still needs polish, but there\u2019s time for Lomu to develop \u2014 he doesn\u2019t turn 22 until December \u2014 and the Eagles don\u2019t need him to step into the lineup immediately. Lomu visited Philadelphia this week.<\/p>\n
According to Adam Schefter, the Los Angeles Rams were \u201cfurther along at one point than people realized\u201d regarding a trade of A.J Brown with the Philadelphia Eagles, but no trade came to fruition. I\u2019ve been taking the approach that the Rams and Eagles had talks about a trade for Brown, but I never knew or could find how close they got. Even with Schefter\u2019s recent information, we still don\u2019t know what the framework or cost would\u2019ve looked like between the Rams and Eagles for Brown.<\/p>\n
So, where is the best spot to catch an Eagles game? Some may prefer to be in the middle of the action at Lincoln Financial Field. Others may want to stay in the city and watch it at McGillin\u2019s Olde Ale House. Still others prefer the comfort of their own living rooms. But for astronaut Christina Koch, who is one of the four crew members on the Artemis II mission that\u2019s currently on its return from the moon, she prefers to be as far away from the games as possible \u2014 and has posted photos of herself watching games from the International Space Station, more than 250 miles above the Earth.<\/p>\n

The Dallas Cowboys need help on defense, with the edge rushing group being one of their needs. After trading away Micah Parsons, the team has been searching for quality replacements. Draft picks like Donovan Ezeiruaku and trade acquisition Rashan Gary are two players the team is counting on for this upcoming season, but it seems apparent that more help is required. No one would answer the call more effectively than a player who is one of this year\u2019s top prospects. Obviously Dallas would have to trade some picks\/players to make this happen.<\/p>\n
This roundup has 76 mock drafts and 19 of them feature the most popular player for the Washington Commanders. Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love is an intriguing prospect who could elevate any team\u2019s offense. Adding another premium weapon for Jayden Daniels and new offensive coordinator makes too much sense. There were also three trade ups in this week\u2019s roundup, and they all have Washington moving up to #3 to secure Love. That move would likely not go over well with a majority of the fanbase.<\/p>\n
The New York Giants have signed former Baltimore Ravens right guard Daniel Faalele. The 26-year-old has played over 1,000 snaps at right guard over the last two seasons for John Harbaugh. Unique, at 6-foot-8, 380 pounds, Faalele is a hulking interior offensive lineman who possesses an immovable anchor and excellent strength at the point of attack, but is limited by his athletic ability and high center of gravity. Faalele surrendered 30 pressures and four sacks last season and has allowed 83 pressures and 12 sacks over his 1,377 pass blocking reps. He also committed 11 penalties over that two-year period, and can get grabby when defenders attempt to work the half-man relationship. Below are his Pro Football Focus grades and statistics.<\/p>\n
The Jacksonville Jaguars\u2019 decision to trade up for Travis Hunter in 2025 was a risk, albeit an understandable one at the time. The team traded its 2025 and 2026 first round picks and their 2025 second-round pick to move up three spots and guarantee they could take the Heisman Trophy-winning CB\/WR who showed the ability to take over games by himself. It was a lot to give up by the Jags, but it made sense. This was a team in dire need of superstar firepower at both of Hunter\u2019s positions, and the biggest justification for the trade was that Jacksonville was ostensibly getting two players in one. Now the plug has been pulled on that idea, less than a year after the trade. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that Hunter is being moved away from WR for the upcoming season, and will instead be a full-time starter at corner, who is used sparingly in the pass game \u2014 a significant shift from the 50\/50 dream the Jags floated a year ago. The position switch is understandable, but doesn\u2019t change the fundamental reality facing the Jaguars: Travis Hunter could very well be a bust, and at best they grossly overpaid for a cornerback.<\/p>\n
