Zaire Franklin wants Kenny Moore II on the Packers as well, but in reality this is a highly unlikely move for Green Bay, and one Brian Gutekunst should stay away from.<\/p>\n

The Green Bay Packers have already made two trades this offseason, sending Rashan Gary to the Dallas Cowboys<\/a> for a 2027 fourth-round pick and Colby Wooden to the Indianapolis Colts for linebacker Zaire Franklin<\/a>. And the veteran acquisition is already wanting to bring an old buddy alongside him to Green Bay.<\/p>\n

Slot cornerback Kenny Moore II and the Colts<\/a> agreed<\/a> to seek a trade partner, and Franklin seems to want his old teammate on the Packers according to his recent social media post.<\/p>\n

A hard deal to actually pull off<\/p>\n

Even though it makes sense that Zaire Franklin would want his friend in Green Bay, the Packers are highly unlikely to make this type of move for several reasons.<\/p>\n

First, Moore is primarily a slot corner. The Packers already have Javon Bullard<\/a> as a starter there, he doesn\u2019t have much room to move to deep safety with Xavier McKinney and Evan Williams there, so it\u2019s an investment basically for depth.<\/p>\n

Then, trading more draft picks for Moore isn\u2019t a smart move. He is 30 years old and has been in the league since 2017, so it\u2019s hard to find good reasons for an investment like this at cornerback \u2014 a position where players tend to regress quickly. The Packers traded two first-rounders for Micah Parsons<\/a> and a 2027 sixth-rounder for Darian Kinnard<\/a>, so the team is not in position to keep throwing picks away for veterans, unless it\u2019s an actual investment to significantly improve the team.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Moore is slated to make $10 million in 2026, the final year of his current deal. The Packers have $22 million in cap space, so it\u2019s technically feasible, but it\u2019s a huge salary for a player who wouldn\u2019t be what the roster needs at this point.<\/p>\n

Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon was Kenny Moore\u2019s position coach for three years, between 2018 and 2020, but the overall combination makes this move unrealistic for Green Bay.<\/p>\n

Franklin and Moore played together on the Colts from 2018 to 2025. Undrafted in 2017, Moore initially signed with the New England Patriots, but didn\u2019t make the 53-man roster and was immediately claimed off waivers by the Colts, staying in Indy for the following nine seasons.<\/p>\n
