Close<\/a>Marc Raimondi’s first year covering the Falcons was 2024, but it wasn’t his first year at ESPN. He joined the company in 2019 and was a top combat sports reporter. He also covered professional wrestling and wrote the book “Say Hello to the Bad Guys: How Pro Wrestling’s New World Order Changed America,” which was published by Simon & Schuster in 2025. Raimondi also worked for the New York Post and Newsday, beginning in 2009, covering high school and college sports, plus the NFL, NFL, MLB and NHL.<\/p>\n

The Atlanta Falcons<\/a> picked up running back Bijan Robinson<\/a>‘s fifth-year contract option Friday, the team announced.<\/p>\n

Robinson was fourth in the league in rushing yards (1,478) and led the league in scrimmage yards (2,298) this past season. The latter total was a Falcons franchise record. Robinson’s 2025 performance earned him a first-team All-Pro honor.<\/p>\n

The Falcons picking up the option was a formality. Schefter reported last month that there is an expectation that Robinson will get a contract extension this offseason.<\/p>\n

Robinson, 24, has emerged as Atlanta’s star player, a focal point of the team’s media and branding. The former No. 8 overall pick out of Texas has 3,910 rushing yards on 805 carries with 34 total touchdowns (including receiving) in three seasons with the Falcons.<\/p>\n

When asked earlier this week about extension discussions, Robinson said it wasn’t anything he personally was focusing on.<\/p>\n
