The Bucs\u2019 search for defensive line help knows no borders.<\/p>\n
Haggai Ndubuisi, who came to the\u00a0NFL\u00a0through its International Pathway Program with the Cardinals in 2022, signed a one-year deal with the Bucs on Friday.<\/p>\n
Ndubuisi, 25, appeared in his first career game in 2025 with the Texans and recorded his first tackle. In addition to the Cardinals, he previously spent time with the Broncos, Commanders and\u00a0Patriots.<\/p>\n
The Nigerian-born Ndubuisi grew up playing soccer and basketball before discovering football watching a YouTube video when he was 18. He would bring friends and family to fields in\u00a0Nigeria\u00a0and try to reenact what he saw in those highlights.<\/p>\n
He was discovered by\u00a0Ejike Ugboaja, who, along with former Giants and\u00a0Falcons\u00a0defensive end\u00a0Osi Umenyiora, co-leads The Uprise, which helps identify and develop American football talent in\u00a0Africa.<\/p>\n
After six months of training, Ndubuisi was invited to an\u00a0NFL\u00a0camp in\u00a0London\u00a0in late 2021. He also worked with former\u00a0NFL\u00a0offensive lineman LeCharles Bentley.<\/p>\n
The Bucs lost defensive lineman\u00a0Logan Hall\u00a0to the Texans as a free agent.<\/p>\n
Bucs offensive tackle\u00a0Ben Chukwuma\u00a0also was born in\u00a0Nigeria\u00a0and joined the team last season. He played in 17 games, starting two.<\/p>\n
