Aller/Getty Images)

The Seattle Seahawks are coming off one of the more impressive Super Bowl victories in recent years as they sauntered past the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX.

However, despite having ample cap room the franchise decided to not re-sign multiple members of their championship-winning team.

Most notably, the Seahawks saw Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III leave for pastures new in Kansas City. Cornerback Riq Woolen was allowed to depart, and ended up signing a 1 year, $15 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, as was safety Coby Bryant – who joined the Bears on a three year, $40 million contract.

Although the team did instead use much of that cap room to instead to extend the contract of reigning Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba and re-sign wideout and return specialist Rashid Shaheed, the team still has $34 million remaining in cap space in 2026.

And some of that money could go towards making a trade for a player to help with the position group that saw two starters depart – the secondary.

Kenny Moore II Could Help Fill the Gap at Nickel

By chance, one player – who has proven to be one of the better at his position over the past few years, Kenny Moore II – is now on the trade block after the team allowed him to seek a move away.

Sources: Colts and Kenny Moore II mutually have agreed to seek a trade and a new home for the veteran cornerback. Moore is entering the last year of his contract, and both sides feel it is time to explore a trade.

“Sources: Colts and Kenny Moore II mutually have agreed to seek a trade and a new home for the veteran cornerback. Moore is entering the last year of his contract, and both sides feel it is time to explore a trade.” Schefter reported early in the morning of April 10.

Currently, Seattle has Nick Emmanwori starting in the nickel, with Ty Okada and Julian Love at safety.

However, Emmanwori with his wide-ranging capabilities, is perhaps more suited to move from safety to nickel and back. And by having a player like Moore, who can play the slot, and Okada – who would act as the third safety – the Seahawks can seamlessly move him back and forth around the secondary.

Seattle Have Lots of Cap Space to Add Moore

Financially speaking, adding Moore is by no means a huge hurdle to overcome. Seattle would be liable for his $10 million non-guaranteed salary in 2026, and nothing else. So with $34 million to play with this season, fishing out $10 million would hardly be a dealbreaker to acquire one of the league’s most consistent nickels over the past half-decade.

In terms of trade compensation, the Seahawks would not need to give up much to acquire the former UDFA. Moore is not the player he was in his Pro Bowl prime, but he is a worthy starter nonetheless, having garnered a 66.7 grade from Pro Football Focus in 2025.

He also faced time on the sidelines due to an Achilles injury last year, which may have factored into Indianapolis’ decision to let him out of the door.

A mid-late day 3 pick in 2027 should do the trick.

Seahawks receive: Kenny Moore II

Colts receive: 2027 sixth round pick

Daniel Arwas Daniel Arwas is a sports writer who covers the NFL for Heavy.com. Daniel began his career in sports writing in 2022 and has covered the NFL and college football for Gridiron Heroics and The Hammer. More about Daniel Arwas

   More Heavy on Seahawks

    Loading more stories

Getty PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA – NOVEMBER 02: Kenny Moore II #23 of the Indianapolis Colts warms up against the…

[2081
7,6,238,237,261,2635
0":"post-863626","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-seattle-seahawks","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-nfl","10":"tag-seahawks","11":"tag-seattle","12":"tag-seattle-seahawks","13":"tag-seattleseahawks
["GET
