The Denver Broncos<\/a> are looking to pick up right where they left off last year and plan to contend for a Super Bowl in 2026. Every team in the league says that, but only some of those teams are legitimate contenders. The Broncos are legitimate contenders.<\/p>\n

The team has one of the most complete rosters<\/a> in the NFL and will be looking to fine-tune that roster with the upcoming NFL draft. After that, a veteran piece here or there could be the final piece of the puzzle.<\/p>\n

Two former Broncos greats would like that opportunity.<\/p>\n

Von Miller was the MVP of Super Bowl 50 and is probably the best defensive player in team history. He has made no secret<\/a> about the fact that he would like to finish his career where it started. Miller most recently played for the Washington Commanders<\/a> and, at 37 years old, is looking to see where his playing career takes him next.<\/p>\n

The Broncos have one of the best pass-rushing groups in the league. Led by Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper on the edge, Miller would just be used in certain situations at this point in his career, but with Jonah Elliss potentially switching to the inside<\/a>, there could be room for that.<\/p>\n

Just ahead of the 2024 season, the Broncos released long-time safety Justin Simmons. Now 32, Simmons is looking to continue his career after sitting out the entire 2025 season, but only for the right situation. It’s likely that he would consider Denver to be the right situation.<\/p>\n

On a recent appearance on ‘The Other Tom Green Show’, Simmons said, “One day down the road, hopefully there’s an opportunity, ya know, to come back. I would love to play in Denver again, but if not, even just to retire a Bronco, would mean the world to me”.<\/p>\n

The Broncos are also solid at the safety position with Talanoa Hufanga and Brandon Jones, but Simmons could provide a huge boost if the team suffered an injury at that position, as was the case late last season with Jones. But if the team has no interest in bringing him back, there’s no reason why his request to retire a Bronco can’t be granted.<\/p>\n
