ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) \u2014 An evening centered on resilience and healing brought the community together as Villa of Hope hosted its \u201cPortraits of Hope\u201d celebration Friday.<\/p>\n

The event featured a special appearance from Buffalo Bills running back Ray Davis, who shared his personal journey and message about mental health and perseverance.<\/p>\n

Attendees also heard from a Villa of Hope client, Nancy, who spoke about how the organization has impacted her life and supported her through challenges.<\/p>\n

Davis reflected on his own path, including experiencing homelessness and spending eight years in foster care before finding stability through football.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to go through a lot of different stages of life\u2026 share what I got to say,\u201d Davis told the crowd.<\/p>\n

Organizers say stories like Davis\u2019 and Nancy\u2019s highlight the importance of mental health support and community-based resources.<\/p>\n

The night, emceed by Adam Chodak, also included a mocktail hour, silent auction, and a VIP reception and dinner.<\/p>\n

Villa of Hope provides services focused on mental health, education and support for youth and families across the Rochester area.<\/p>\n
