ROCHESTER, N.Y. \u2014 Buffalo Bills running back Ray Davis was in Rochester on Friday night as the keynote speaker at the Villa of Hope\u2019s annual \u201cPortraits of Hope\u201d celebration. <\/p>\n
Davis spoke at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center about his difficult road to success. As a child, Davis spent nearly eight years in foster care and didn\u2019t have a home for a time. <\/p>\n
He said he believes part of his purpose in life is to help out kids who are in tough spots like he was. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s what I felt walking around that facility today and the campus today was everybody there has the right pieces to put their life together,\u201d Davis said. <\/p>\n
\u201cI have a blueprint and I want to be able to help them write their own blueprint of how to escape what they\u2019ve got going on and find success in their life,\u201d Davis said. <\/p>\n
The event raised money for Villa of Hope\u2019s treatment services for mental health, substance use disorders and community care services.<\/p>\n
