The Packers let former backup QB Malik Willis walk in free agency after impressing in several games during the 2025 campaign when Jordan Love went down with an injury. The same can be said about Musgrave, but he didn’t produce the same production that would intrigue teams, finishing with 24 catches for 252 yards. It might be wise for the Packers to retain Musgrave, especially after Kraft is coming off an ACL injury last season, but Musgrave is entering the final year of his contract.

He’s likely to garner interest for his potential, either way, despite the circumstances in Green Bay. Musgrave could still turn into a high-stakes, starting tight end in the right environment.

Firesale Dolphins, Packers Likely to Agree to Blockbuster Luke Musgrave Trade

While the Dolphins have been cleaning up shop, trading Jaylen Waddle and releasing Tyreek Hill, the team must surround Willis with reliable playmakers. Jeff Hafley can’t afford for Willis to enter the 2026 season without pass-catchers, and he understands that. Meanwhile, the Packers might be in good shape with Kraft returning as the starting tight end. The team could draft a low-stakes replacement if the team does move on without Musgrave.

Nobody should anticipate Musgrave to light it up on the field if he joins Miami. He’s an upgrade over Greg Dulcich, but the tight end has the abilities and skillset to turn himself into a reliable pass-catcher. Willis would reunite with a familiar target alongside Hafley coaching, so this trade would make too much sense. However, other teams are always looking for options at the position and could target Musgrave.

Other Potential Fits
Dallas Cowboys

It wouldn’t be the first time that the Cowboys and Packers have made a trade exchange. Despite extending Jake Ferguson last offseason, the team is likely to shop Luke Schoonmaker, who has struggled to turn into a reliable backup for Ferguson. In fact, Brevyn Spann-Ford has immersed himself in TE2 due to his blocking abilities on the field. With that, Schoonmaker is likely to be gone before the 2026 regular season.

Musgrave won’t provide any different, but he does have potential as a long-term backup for this Cowboys offense if he impresses at training camp.

Baltimore Ravens

Meanwhile, the Ravens don’t need a starting tight end, but Isaiah Likely is gone, so they need to target a backup. Mark Andrews ultimately may have won the job, but the team can’t afford to lean all of the responsibility on him. Musgrave won’t start anytime soon in Baltimore, but it gives him a fresh start under Lamar Jackson and Jesse Minter.

Denver Broncos

As for the Broncos, they need to elevate the offense one last time before the 2026 campaign. Jaylen Waddle is the latest strengthening acquisition, but they need to upgrade the tight end position. Evan Engram is coming off his worst season as a Bronco, and even though Musgrave hasn’t proved much, he could turn into a capable starter with Bo Nix under center.

After struggling to take place over Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers backup TE Luke Musgrave is likely to…

[2072
849,436,1151,2826,7,41,345,2702,2514,2513,588,114345,6343,759,2733,6,835,428,10420,14233
0":"post-864156","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-green-bay-packers","8":"tag-baltimore-ravens-news","9":"tag-dallas-cowboys-news","10":"tag-denver-broncos-news","11":"tag-evan-engram","12":"tag-football","13":"tag-green-bay","14":"tag-green-bay-packers","15":"tag-green-bay-packers-news","16":"tag-greenbay","17":"tag-greenbaypackers","18":"tag-jake-ferguson","19":"tag-lastest-nfl-news","20":"tag-luke-musgrave","21":"tag-mark-andrews","22":"tag-miami-dolphins-news","23":"tag-nfl","24":"tag-nfl-news","25":"tag-packers","26":"tag-ravens-featured","27":"tag-tucker-kraft
["GET
