Former Buffalo Bills<\/a> wide receiver Stefon Diggs had a bounce-back season in 2025, proving that his season-ending knee injury was a thing of the past.<\/p>\n But after an abrupt exit from the New England Patriots<\/a> and the uncertainty of his unresolved legal issues, Diggs could have a difficult time finding a new NFL home, one analyst predicts. Diggs remains unsigned after more than a month of free agency, and SI.com\u2019s Gilberto Manzano<\/a> warns that it could stay that way.<\/p>\n Stefon Diggs Could Struggle to Find Another Team<\/p>\n In an article breaking down the top landing spots for remaining NFL free agents, Manzano predicted that Diggs could join the Atlanta Falcons<\/a> \u2014 if any NFL team would be willing to take the risk on him.<\/p>\n Manzano noted that Diggs showed he still has plenty left in the tank, but predicted that his pending felony criminal charges could prevent another NFL team from signing him.<\/p>\n \u201cDiggs had a memorable comeback season, helping the Patriots advance to the Super Bowl,\u201d Manzano wrote. \u201cHe had dominant stretches, stepped up when it mattered most and gave Drake Maye a much-needed security blanket.<\/p>\n \u201cBut Diggs\u2019s off-field issues were too much to ignore last season. Even if he resolves his legal matters, it\u2019s going to be difficult for Diggs to find a team to bet on him as he enters his age-33 season.\u201d<\/p>\n Diggs is facing charges related to an alleged assault on a former personal chef over a pay dispute. The Pro Bowl wide receiver denied the allegations, but faces an uncertain legal process after facing a formal indictment in the days after the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n Manzano believes that Diggs will have his talent win out, noting that he finished the 2025 season with 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns. Diggs was an important part of Maye\u2019s development in New England and a major part of the team\u2019s surprise AFC East title and run to the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n Other Options for Stefon Diggs<\/p>\n There could be other options for Diggs in 2026. Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report<\/a> suggested that the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> could snatch him up, giving quarterback Patrick Mahomes a potential new No. 1 receiver.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Chiefs need to add a wide receiver to a room that currently sports Rashee Rice<\/a>,\u00a0Xavier Worthy<\/a> and not much else. Kansas City has also made something of a habit of bringing in veteran wide receivers who were cast off by other teams,\u201d Davenport wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cDiggs is also coming off a quietly-solid season with the New England Patriots: 102 targets, 85 receptions, 1,013 yards and four touchdowns<\/a>. Right now, Kansas City\u2019s pass-catchers are more a weakness than a strength. The addition of Diggs could change that.\u201d<\/p>\n That could be bad news for the Bills, who saw Diggs perform well against them last season and will likely battle the Chiefs for AFC supremacy.
