Although he doesn\u2019t always play up to his testing numbers, he can guard both sidelines and sort through routes. He can clean up some things in the run game, too \u2014 he has a nose for the ball and doesn\u2019t hesitate flying to the contact point.\u201d<br \/>\u2026<br \/>Emmanuel McNeil-Warren \u2013 No. 3 safety<br \/>\u201cMcNeil-Warren is an impressive size\/speed athlete on the back end, who is at his best when roaming to read his keys, flow to the ball and quickly close space,\u201d said Brugler. \u201cHe has the rangy tools to push for starting safety reps as an NFL rookie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">While Brugler praises McNeil-Warren\u2019s rangy play, he does note that he can be \u201coveraggressive\u201d when tracking down the run game and can be late to adjust.<br \/>\u2026<br \/>Peter Woods \u2013 No. 2 defensive tackle<br \/>One of the biggest positions of need on the defense remains defensive tackle. After the release of Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave, Minnesota has a serious lack of experience across its defensive front.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">That comes at an inopportune time, as many experts and teams don\u2019t seem to have first-round grades on the top DT talents in the draft. This has proven to be a thorn in Dallas Turner\u2019s side, as he just can\u2019t find starting minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">As Adam Patrick of The Viking Age mentioned, Paul Allen spoke about Turner on The Paul Allen Show earlier this week. Patrick summarized the words for us.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201c[The Vikings] want to play him, [but] Greenard\u2019s better than him until proven otherwise. [Andrew] Van Ginkle is, probably, can argue the best of the three, but he and Greenard are 1 and 1A, whichever way you want to go.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">I\u2019m just not sure they know what to do with Dallas Turner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Patrick added some of his own insight on the matter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThankfully, Turner is still only 23-years-old and he likely hasn\u2019t hit the prime of his NFL career yet. However, one of the biggest benefits of selecting him in the first round is the ability to take advantage of how affordable of his rookie contract is, and the Vikings haven\u2019t really been able to do that yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Minnesota Named One of the \u2018Worst QB Situations\u2019 in NFL in 2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Bleacher Report had the take that came out of a flamethrower. They made their case as to why it\u2019s the 6th-worst in the NFL per their list.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cIn practically every way you can measure a quarterback, J.J. McCarthy was the least qualified passer in the NFL during his sophomore campaign. Now they\u2019ve added Kyler Murray, who missed significant action in three of his last four seasons in Arizona and has a 90.3 passer rating since 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">These claims are technically factual. However, it ignores the high-ceiling that likely-starting Kyler Murray is providing you.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">They did provide a bit of a lifeline to the team regarding their take.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cAs with Atlanta, you\u2019re looking at two highly drafted guys in their 20s working with strong weapons and a stellar offensive line. And if it\u2019s a crapshoot, at least they get two rolls of the dice. At least to the point that he\u2019s a serviceable backup. Similarly to what he did with Jones. It makes a lot more sense for San Francisco to get what they can for Jones at the peak of his value rather than keeping him as a backup and letting him walk after this season. We have heard reports that they want a second-round pick for Jones, which isn\u2019t going to happen, but a fourth, and McCarthy is still a good deal,\u201d Morales-Smith wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Note: It would help if the person would know that the Vikings do not have a 4th round pick. Same mechanism, different positions, identical result. The cap structure creates moral hazard: spend aggressively, win now, and let the next front office absorb the wreckage. Except the next front office is an interim GM operating without permanent authority. The system broke the team.
