The Cleveland Browns<\/a> have two first-round picks, and their first selection comes at No. 6 overall. With such a high pick, nailing that selection is very important.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, there are a lot of great options for Cleveland to go with. But their options are most likely going to focus on offense.<\/p>\n

According to James Reber for NFL.com<\/a>, there is one player who would be an “ideal” but also realistic option for Cleveland with the 6th pick. That player is a standout Ohio State wide receiver, Carnell Tate.<\/p>\n

“Cleveland struggled mightily at the wide receiver position last season, recording a putrid 0.9 yards per route, the second-lowest figure by any team’s WR room in the last decade,” Reber writes. “This Ohio State product would be an outstanding addition as the organization works to fix its woes at the position.”<\/p>\n

Tate is a fun prospect who would be a great pick at No. 6 overall. He’s exactly what the Browns need, as he’s a stable receiver who can lead a room and is a ready-made professional.<\/p>\n

With the shaky Browns WR room led by Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman, and Isaiah Bond, landing someone like Tate makes a ton of sense.<\/p>\n

The Junior 6-foot-3, 195-pound receiver had a great season for the Buckeyes in 2025. He caught 51 passes for 875 yards and nine touchdowns, good for a strong 17.2 yards per reception.<\/p>\n

Whoever is starting for the Browns at quarterback, whether it’s Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson, Dillon Gabriel, or a new face, they will need some wide receiver help.<\/p>\n

While they could wait until the 24th pick for WR help, Reber has Tate as the ideal option with the No. 6 pick. And with the teams ahead of the Browns not strongly linked to the Ohio State WR, their ideal option is also likely to make it to their pick.<\/p>\n
