He mentioned the status of Morgan Moses to reporters and whether he expects him to be back. Sleeper’s Carlos Lopez reported this.

Moses was a free-agent signing for the Patriots last March. He signed a three-year $24 million contract as an unrestricted free agent. He ended up becoming a major part of the offensive line and protecting quarterback Drake Maye. Moses was dependable, as he started all 17 regular-season games and all three postseason games that the Patriots played.

Wolf noted that he would like to see Moses come back to the organization.

“Yes, that’s our expectation… I know Coach Vrabel’s in contact with him. No indication that he’s looking to move on, and I think he’s excited about coming back up here and getting started.”

Veteran Reached Milestones With Patriots

Moses reached some milestones during his first season with the Patriots. He reached 10,000 career snaps during the Patriots’ October 12 game against the New Orleans Saints. Moses also started at right tackle in Super Bowl LX, where the Patriots were unable to continue their magical regular season journey.

Moses was able to be efficient in helping the Patriots succeed last season. He earned a 74 overall Pro Football Focus grade, which was 27th among qualified offensive tackles. He also had a 69.8 pass blocking grade. This qualified him 43rd among 89 qualified offensive tackles. Run-blocking was where he excelled the most. He had a 77.1 grade, which ranked 17th at the position.

He allowed 29 total pressures in pass protection. The total included one sack and five hits allowed on Drake Maye. The veteran was flagged for eight penalties on the year.

A Key Patriots Veteran Off The Field

Moses was more than just a solid veteran on the field. He was also a mentor off it. He helped rookie tackle Will Campbell find his way throughout the 2025 season. Moses took Campbell under his wing, and the two formed a bond. The veteran was a key figure for a Patriots’ offensive line, full of youth, and one that was still trying to find his identity.

Moses is older, as he is currently 35 years of age. However, he proved to be a valuable piece for the Patriots last season. It could be wise for the Patriots to bring them back on a short-term deal. The offensive line was not perfect, but it was a work in progress. Moses was a big part of making sure the work was able to get done and that the Patriots had a solid base to build from.

The organization has been working on tinkering the offensive line for several seasons now. They certainly sounded like dependable and productive player in Moses. It sounds as though he will be back and have a chance to make an impact for the Patriots once again. He is not a long-term solution on the offensive line, given his age. However, he is a valuable veteran presence and one that the Patriots may need moving forward. The Patriots are still young as a whole, and overachieved last season. Moses being in the locker room is certainly important for the culture of the team moving forward.

Danny Jaillet Danny Jaillet is a sportswriter with more than 15 years experience in the industry.
