Some think Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Travis Hunter can\u2019t go<\/a> both ways. Dez Bryant hates the idea of Hunter not playing offense<\/a>. And Hunter went back and forth with Ian Rapoport<\/a> about the report<\/a> of Hunter\u2019s 2026 role, according to posts on X.<\/p>\n

Hunter asked, \u201cNow who told you this?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen he does come back \u2026 they expect him to be a full-time corner, part-time receiver,\u201d Rapoport said. \u201cWhen you talked to teams last year, that\u2019s probably where they thought the value was. Maybe this year we will get to see the player that (the Jaguars) drafted, that they traded up for.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rapoport said he didn\u2019t know what Hunter was driving at<\/a>, according to Rapoport\u2019s post on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhich part of is (Hunter) questioning?\u201d Rapoport said. \u201cIs he saying, \u2018Wow, I can\u2019t believe you have all this information, which is what I assume this is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jaguars WR Travis Hunter still has hurdles ahead<\/p>\n

One thing that has to happen for Hunter is that he gets healthy enough<\/a> for the start of the season, according to a post on YouTube by the Jaguars via jaguarswire.com.<\/p>\n

Jaguars GM James Gladstone said Hunter is working through the rehab process.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe’ll be, for all intents and purposes,\u201d Gladstone said, \u201ca limited participant throughout the offseason program with eyes on return to play at full tick in training camp.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hunter played in seven games last season before going down with the injury. He caught 28 passes for 298 yards and one touchdown as a receiver. On defense, he had 15 total tackles. However, he played twice as many snaps on offense as on defense.<\/p>\n

It makes sense that the reverse would be true in 2026, if Rapoport\u2019s information is accurate.<\/p>\n

The Jaguars have Brian Thomas Jr. as their No. 1 wide receiver. Jakobi Meyers is WR2, followed by Parker Washington. Defensively, Hunter is slotted to start one corner spot with Christian Braswell at the other.<\/p>\n
