The Dallas Cowboys still are lacking in the edge department, but they may fill that need in the 2026 NFL draft.<\/p>\n
The Dallas Cowboys<\/a> haven\u2019t been the same since they traded pass rusher Micah Parsons<\/a> to the Green Bay Packers<\/a> for two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark<\/a> back in August of 2025. But, it\u2019s a hurdle that they can certainly get over with the proper edge room.<\/p>\n Sure, the Dallas Cowboys miss Parsons, but he isn\u2019t even expected to play<\/a> for the first three to four games of the 2026-27 season, so it turned into a complicated arrangement, and Dallas could certainly have made a worse trade.<\/p>\n Now, it\u2019s time for Dallas to look ahead, and they may snag a stellar edge in the 2026 NFL draft<\/a>. The event is slated for April 23 through 25 in Pittsburgh, and this is where the team could land up-and-coming talent to take their pass rusher roster to the next level.<\/p>\n Dallas Cowboys Have the Chance to Take an Edge Early in the Draft to Help Replace Micah Parsons<\/p>\n Now that the NFL<\/a> free agency period has gotten quiet and the majority of major trades have taken place, the picture is getting clearer on the holes still left to fill for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2026 NFL draft. One of those is edge, even though the Cowboys haven\u2019t totally ignored this position.<\/p>\n In a Monday, April 13 feature for Yahoo Sports, Nate Tice and Charles McDonald lay out<\/a> their picks for the draft in the first round. They select an absolute monster of a player for the Dallas Cowboys in edge Keldric Faulk out of Auburn.<\/p>\n \u201cFaulk\u2019s draft position varies wildly from evaluator to evaluator,\u201d they note in the piece. \u201cI am personally a fan who is willing to bet on his youth,\u201d noting that he\u2019s still 20, \u201cS-tier run stopping ability, and pocket-pushing upside, but I understand if his lack of pass rush production and refinement could have you taking a more glass half-empty outlook.\u201d<\/p>\n They add that Dallas needs to<\/a> \u201ckeep bolstering their defense to match their potentially high-octane offense, and nabbing Faulk would add even more stoutness to the reworked front, with the added bonus of having experience playing from the inside as well.\u201d<\/p>\n College Standout Has \u2018Good Movement Skills\u2019 and is a \u2018Cultured Player\u2019<\/p>\n Faulk\u2019s official NFL profile calls him a player<\/a> with a \u201clong, developing frame, good movement skills and the potential for odd or even fronts once he gains more muscle mass.\u201d It also notes that he\u2019s a \u201cculture player with high character who earns a grade bump based on his age,\u201d again noting his young age at 20, \u201ctraits and advanced foundation.\u201d<\/p>\n His profile continues, \u201cA fluid athlete with good movement skills, he works around blocks with finesse but needs more assertive initial strikes to set firmer edges in gap control. His toughness and mentality suggest he\u2019ll play through blocks more consistently in an NFL environment.\u201d<\/p>\n Faulk, in my opinion, is a no-brainer pick for the Dallas Cowboys. He\u2019s huge at 6-foot-6 and 276 pounds and would intimidate even the toughest Dallas opponents.
