The Jets raised some eyebrows late on Wednesday evening, as Connor Hughes reported that the Jets had canceled their planned Top 30 visit with Bailey<\/a>, which is unusual for a team that is still reportedly trying to decide between two evenly matched players at the same position. <\/p>\n

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Jets saw all they needed to see from Bailey <\/a>as a player and didn’t need the visit to find out anything else. While this may not confirm Bailey or Reese as the pick, it may be a sign that the Jets are inching closer to a decision.<\/p>\n

The lack of a Top 30 visit for Bailey, who the Jets met with at his Pro Day, is basically going to serve as a Rorschach test, as the Arvell Army and Bailey Bros<\/a> out there will likely use this to support whichever narrative they want to be willed into reality. <\/p>\n

Let’s say Reese is the pick as his athletic ability ends up sealing the deal. If that’s the case, why would they need to use a Top 30 pick on a player they won’t select or trade up for? Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn can use that visit to get some intel on a possible mid-round selection or a possible UDFA gem. <\/p>\n

What if the scales tip back to Bailey? Well, if the Jets already feel confident enough in the Red Raiders’ sack artist to pick him at No. 2 overall, there’s likely no information that a Top 30 visit could uncover that would shake them out of that belief.<\/p>\n

For context, the Jets had a Top 30 visit with 2025 No. 7 pick<\/a> Armand Membou last year.<\/p>\n

Some dour Jets fans may not want to hear this, but both players have All-Pro potential. With Reese showing a boundless athletic ceiling and extreme versatility, and Bailey fresh off one of the best pass-rushing seasons in college football history, both of them can thrive in New York. <\/p>\n
