Houston Texans pass-rusher Will Anderson just signed a new three-year, $50 million per year contract this week. Prior to this deal, the Green Bay Packers<\/a>\u2019 Micah Parsons<\/a> was the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league, earning an average of $46.5 million per season on the four-year extension he signed with the Packers last year. The new Anderson contract is a nearly 8 percent bump on top of what Parsons received.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s been a decent amount of distance between Anderson and Parsons in the pressure department, at least according to NFL Pro\u2019s numbers<\/a>. Per NFL Pro, Anderson has averaged 69 pressures per year over his three years in the league, compared to Micah Parsons\u2019 83.6 pressures per season since he came into the league in 2021. Parsons\u2019 mark is the best in the league since 2021, with only the Cleveland Browns<\/a>\u2019 Myles Garrett<\/a> coming in over 75 pressures per season (80.2).<\/p>\n

On top of the raw money, Anderson received what is reported to be $134 million in guarantees (these numbers are always iffy when initially reported) and a no-trade clause in his deal. For perspective, Parsons got $123.1 million guaranteed at signing (a true guarantee) and $136 million in \u201ctotal guarantees\u201d (on a four-year deal compared to Anderson\u2019s three-year contract).<\/p>\n
