Standout Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles is in the mix, though the Dallas Cowboys also appear to be hot on his tail.

There’s been a good bit of chatter regarding the Cowboys possibly making an aggressive move up to call Styles’ name. Multiple renowned analysts have projected them to land him with the sixth overall selection as part of a blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Browns. However, that’s presumably contingent on what the Giants do, prompting the question: would Dallas be desperate enough to strike a deal with New York instead?

Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post raises the idea of a Giants-Cowboys exchange that has Styles ending up in Dallas.

“Could we see a Giants (No. 5) and Cowboys (No. 12) trade?” Dunleavy wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Ton of smoke about Cowboys trading up for Sonny Styles.”

Giants could hand Cowboys Ohio State LB Sonny Styles in shocking 2026 NFL Draft twist

Of course, the Giants are on the clock seven spots ahead of Dallas’ first turn. New York can kill two birds with one stone quite easily by taking Styles, addressing a need while leaving their NFC East rival scrambling. Be that as it may, it’s fair to wonder whether the two sides are open to engaging in talks surrounding the 2024 National Champion.

It’s rare to see inter-division transactions. The risk of letting an archenemy get a player and seeing them blossom into a star has teams wary of making such a move. Yet, the Giants can benefit from a package of draft capital, and the Cowboys are ostensibly eyeing Styles.

Giants fans who want the club to choose Styles must be queasy at the thought of him wearing a star on his helmet. But what if the front office can leverage Dallas’ affinity for the former Buckeye into accumulating more assets for a roster with glaring holes? At the very least, it’s worth exploring.

In August 2024, the Giants sent veteran defensive tackle Jordan Phillips to the Cowboys in a late-round pick swap. New York also notoriously shipped the 1975 No. 2 overall pick, which ultimately became Hall of Famer Randy White, to Dallas for quarterback Craig Morton. So, it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen these two heated foes help each other out.

Add us as a preferred source on GoogleFollow

The New York Giants have reportedly narrowed their options with the No. 5 pick in the 2026 NFL…

[2067
7,519,1917,56,2321,2469,6
0":"post-868722","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-york-giants","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-giants","10":"tag-new-york","11":"tag-new-york-giants","12":"tag-newyork","13":"tag-newyorkgiants","14":"tag-nfl
["GET
