The Los Angeles Rams<\/a> were one win away from the Super Bowl, and that reality makes them a strong speculative candidate to make a trade up in the 2026 draft, perhaps for a target like Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Love is inarguably one of the best players in this class. That alone makes the prospects of him being available to the Rams with the 13th overall pick unlikely.<\/p>\n

However, the Rams have already shown an interest in Love, which could prove telling.<\/p>\n

USA Today\u2019s Ayrton Ostly suggested Love as the \u201cperfect\u201d draft fit for the Rams, even while admitting that he was \u201cone of the least likely pairings\u201d on his list.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it came true, this would be perfect for a team going all-in to win the Super Bowl in 2026,\u201d Ayrton wrote<\/a> on April 17. \u201cLos Angeles has one of the best wide receiver tandems in the NFL<\/a>, an MVP quarterback and one of the best play-callers in the league. Adding in a dynamic threat at running back could make them a truly unstoppable force.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rams raised eyebrows<\/a> with their interest in Love at the combine. He has also sparked various debates about his worthiness as a top pick, largely due to his position and specific team needs, and whether there is value in trading up for the right to draft him.<\/p>\n

There are very few questions about his individual talent, though.<\/p>\n

The Rams Wire\u2019s Cameron DaSilva noted that LA is \u201cloaded at the position, but adding a blue-chip talent like Love would be a game-changer on offense.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPopular landing spots for Love in mock drafts are the Saints<\/a> at No. 8 and the Chiefs<\/a> at No. 9, but he could go even earlier than that \u2013 especially if one of those two teams trades up for him,\u201d The Rams Wire\u2019s Cameron DaSilva wrote<\/a> in February.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s hard to see him getting to the Rams at No. 13, but it\u2019s still interesting that they had a formal meeting with the standout rusher. Kyren Williams<\/a> just signed a contract extension, Blake Corum<\/a> still has two years left on his rookie deal and Jarquez Hunter<\/a> was drafted in the fourth round last year.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rams potentially moving into position for Love would speak volumes about their current group, which led them to the seventh-best rushing attack during the 2025 regular season.<\/p>\n

They even re-signed reserve and special teamer Ronnie Rivers<\/a>, seemingly finalizing the room<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the Rams can select Love and then move Williams or Corum for at least a fourth-rounder that would allow them to still fill the wide receiver need in the second round, it can be justifiable,\u201d The Athletic\u2019s Nate Atkins wrote<\/a> in March. \u201cBut this would be the definition of a luxury move, and it would come with some potential downside.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt could improve on truly explosive gains \u2014 which I think will happen with more Corum touches \u2014 but that is less of a concern for a team as elite in the red zone as this one with [Matthew] Stafford<\/a>, Davante Adams<\/a> and 13-personnel sets.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rams\u2019 No. 13 pick is worth 1,150 points, per DraftTek\u2019s trade value chart<\/a>, which is based on the model made famous by Hall-of-Fame head coach Jimmy Johnson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 10th spot, currently owned by the Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>, is worth 1,300 points.<\/p>\n

LA could even entertain swapping with the Chiefs at eighth overall, with that slot worth 1,350 points. It only gets more expensive from there, requiring more draft capital to reach an agreement.<\/p>\n
