The 2026 NFL<\/a> draft is upon us, and it\u2019s a key moment for first-year New York Giants<\/a> head coach John Harbaugh as he picks a round<\/a> of rookies to help rebuild this team. The Giants<\/a> have been in comeback mode for way too long, and they\u2019re coming off a 2025-26 season with a 4-13 record<\/a> and not much hope.<\/p>\n But, that was before Harbaugh took over. Now, the former Baltimore Ravens<\/a> coach has once again brought this struggling franchise hope that there\u2019s going to be a better tomorrow. The future of the New York Giants starts, in a sense, with the 2026 NFL draft and Harbaugh\u2019s first draft class for the team.<\/p>\n Now, the NFL has made an announcement about the Giants ahead of the draft, and it has to do with the team\u2019s participation in the event.<\/p>\n NFL Officially Unveils Presenters for 2026 NFL Draft, Including for the New York Giants<\/p>\n On Thursday, April 16, the NFL announced the legends and active players<\/a> representing all 32 teams\u00a0 and making the selections in the second and third rounds of this year\u2019s NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n For the Giants, Osi Umenyiora will be on hand to announce the picks. Umenyiora, of course, was with the Giants from 2003 to 2012, and during that time, he\u00a0won two Super Bowls and became seen among the league\u2019s most elite pass rushers. He rounded out his NFL career with 85 career sacks.<\/p>\n It\u2019ll be nostalgic to see Umenyiora on the stage at the NFL draft. Perhaps he\u2019ll help kick off a new era, and a successful one, for the New York Giants.<\/p>\n New York Giants Snag Wide Receiver Help in 2026 Mock Draft<\/p>\n In a Friday, April 17 piece for ESPN, Matt Miller asks a handful of scouts and executives<\/a> to weigh in on the first 10 picks in the 2026 NFL draft, one of which goes to the New York Giants. They have the team going with Carnell Tate, a wide receiver, out of Ohio State. You can never go wrong with a Buckeye.<\/p>\n \u201cLove is off the board, but the Giants have every wide receiver and offensive lineman available to them,\u201d he notes in the piece. \u201cThose are two positions of need for a team that likes where it\u2019s at defensively.\u201d<\/p>\n He adds that while Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles is also going to get matched with New York a lot, \u201cthe Giants added free agent linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to an already stout group.\u201d So, Tate is seen as a shining option for quarterback Jaxson Dart. He\u2019ll need more targets, and Tate is simply reliable and mature.<\/p>\n \u201cTate was never the WR1 at Ohio State, but the 6-foot-2, 195-pound pass catcher scored nine touchdowns on 51 catches last season,\u201d Miller adds<\/a>. \u201cHe runs the type of smooth-moving routes that have teams seeing him as a lock to be selected in the first 10 picks.\u201d<\/p>\n So, to think that Tate had those numbers not even being the WR1 at Ohio State says a lot about his potential.
