The Seattle Seahawks<\/a> enter the 2026 NFL Draft with a league-low four picks in all seven rounds of the draft. No other team has as few picks as the Seahawks do.<\/p>\n

With their 32nd, 64th, and 96th picks in the first three rounds, the Seahawks will have the ability to land a few decent players. But, they could also swing a trade or two to accrue more picks.<\/p>\n

That’s exactly what ESPN’s Ben Solak<\/a> is urging the Seahawks to do with the 32nd pick. However, he does give one caveat in that Seattle shouldn’t trade down if one of two positions were to have someone good fall into their lap at the 32nd pick.<\/p>\n

“In that the Seahawks have only four picks in this draft, they feel like a team that must trade back,” Solak writes. “… Trade back unless great value on a safety or cornerback falls your way.”<\/p>\n

Picking at No. 32 overall, the Seahawks will be the last pick of the first round, a selection that typically can bring back some decent value in a trade for a team seeking the last fifth-year option of that year’s draft.<\/p>\n

If there’s not a clear-cut option with this pick on the board, Seattle should seriously consider trading back into the second round to add to their league-low pick total.<\/p>\n

However, if a star cornerback or safety were to fall to them at this pick, Solak makes the case that it’s worth passing up on the trade value to pick a falling player.<\/p>\n

At safety, Caleb Downs<\/a> is not going to fall this far barring the biggest draft surprise in some time. But, Dillon Thieneman out of Oregon or Emmanuel McNeill-Warren out of Toledo could realistically fall to this pick.<\/p>\n

Cornerback is a bit different, as Mansoor Delane and Jermod McCoy, especially lately, look likely to go early in the draft. Though there is a small chance that McCoy falls due to some injury issues.<\/p>\n

After them, there’s not a player who could “fall” to the Seahawks at 32nd overall. But if San Diego State’s Chris Johnson or Tennessee<\/a>‘s Colton Hood is on the board at this pick, the Seahawks should consider sticking and picking.<\/p>\n

Despite owning the fewest picks in the draft, the Seahawks’ 2026 draft plans are among the most interesting this year. They could be active in the trade market while also still landing some high-quality players, even if they trade back.<\/p>\n
