The defensive line room as a whole is aging, with no long-term plan. But the <a href=\"https:\/\/thepewterplank.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Buccaneers<\/a> need to do whatever it takes to find an eventual successor that can maintain Tampa Bay\u2019s dominant run defense for years to come. Luckily, there is a prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft that could be exactly what the Buccaneers are looking for.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kayden McDonald is quietly a perfect fit for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2026 NFL Draft\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-8\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"65\">Ohio State defensive tackle Kayden McDonald is the elite run stuffer Tampa Bay would love to add as a potential successor to Vita Vea.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-9\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"68\">At 6-foot-2, 326 pounds, he brings massive size and could play Vea\u2019s role as the nose tackle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-10\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6b\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pff.com\/ncaa\/players\/kayden-mcdonald\/170258\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">His 92.0 PFF run defense grade<\/a> ranked No. 1 in the nation out of 887 defensive linemen. He had rare production at the position with 31 solo tackles including nine tackles for loss and three sacks in 2025.<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-11\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6e\">\u201cMcDonald emerged as an All-American and was the most dominant defensive player on several of Ohio State\u2019s 2025 tapes, which says a lot considering the defense\u2019s talent,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/interactive\/the-beast-2026\/player\/kayden-mcdonald-ohio-state-defensive-tackle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">wrote Dane Brugler in his 2026 NFL Draft guide.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-12\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-secondary my-f-1\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"6h\">\u201cMcDonald\u2019s powerful skill set is at its best when he acts as a run defender.
