He’s got the pedigree. He’s got the route polish. He’s not a route burner, but he’s fast enough. So, there’s just too many teams early in that top 10 that need a receiver. He’s pretty confident about that 4-7 range. You’ve got Giants at 5, Browns at 6, Commanders at 7. All have a pretty big need at that position. So, if he’s the first to go, he’s going to be well positioned. He feels like he’s going to go high, so he’s in a good spot.

“Then you’ve got Jordyn Tyson, Arizona State, who seems to be rising right now. Had a workout yesterday for execs and scouts showing that twitchiness, that explosiveness that he put on tape at Arizona State. The questions have been about the durability. Is he going to be available for you after missing time for multiple years with the Sun Devils. But teams I’ve talked to just have him too highly rated. I’ve talked to some receiver coaches in the league who believe he might be the best in the class. We mentioned the Commanders, Saints at 8, Chiefs at 9. There’s just so many needs at that position in that top 10.”

B/R’s NFL scouting department has Tyson ranked as the best receiver and No. 8 overall prospect in this year’s draft, one spot ahead of Tate at No. 9.

However, B/R’s mock draft projects Tate to be the first receiver off the board to the Commanders. Tyson landed at No. 16 to the New York Jets.

In an effort to assuage some of the concerns about his injury history, Tyson held a private workout for NFL teams on Friday.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported representatives for more than 20 teams were present at Tyson’s workout.

One person at the workout told ESPN’s Pete Thamel that Tyson showed exactly what he needed to for teams to be comfortable with him.

“He showed the twitch, explosiveness and leaping ability we all saw in the fall. He showed he’s healthy and still explosive, which is all he needed to do,” wrote Thamel.

Tyson missed three games last season due to a hamstring injury. He also tore his ACL, MCL and PCL in 2022 and broke his collarbone in 2024.

Tate did miss three games for Ohio State in 2025 due to a lower-body injury, but he was otherwise healthy throughout his college career. He appeared every game in 2023 and ’24.

Last season saw Tate set career-highs in receiving yards (875) and touchdowns (nine), despite missing time.

Tate seems to have the safest combination of a high floor and ceiling to become a high-end pass-catcher in the NFL.

Tyson is arguably the most talented wideout in the group, so it’s not a surprise he looked good in a workout setting. If he can stay healthy going forward, whatever team decides to take him could end up with a potential game-changing offensive player to build around.

The six teams picking between four and nine — Titans, Giants, Browns, Commanders, Saints, Chiefs — all need a receiver. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see both Tate and Tyson come off the board in that area when the draft begins on April 23.

Heading into the final stretch before the start of the 2026 NFL draft, Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson…

[2076
7,896,55,2572,2571,6,397
0":"post-869339","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-orleans-saints","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-new-orleans","10":"tag-new-orleans-saints","11":"tag-neworleans","12":"tag-neworleanssaints","13":"tag-nfl","14":"tag-saints
["GET
