Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is opening up about her wedding with Hailee Steinfeld, the wife of Josh Allen.<\/p>\n
Seattle Seahawks<\/a> quarterback Sam Darnold<\/a> and his fianc\u00e9e Katie Hoofnagle tied the knot<\/a> in early April, and the two had a star-studded guest list<\/a> for their wedding with a bevy of players from the NFL and beyond. Now, Katie is giving her first interview after the wedding, and it\u2019s with one of their wedding guests, Hailee Steinfeld, the wife of Buffalo Bills<\/a> quarterback Josh Allen<\/a>.<\/p>\n Sam and Katie got engaged<\/a> in July 2025, when Darnold proposed to Hoofnagle on the beach in Dana Point, California, and they announced the news on social media<\/a>. Katie took to social media again to\u00a0share that they were officially married<\/a> after the big day, showing off an image of her wedding ring with the caption, \u201cI have a husband now, btw.\u201d<\/p>\n Now, Katie is opening up about the big day and what it meant to her to walk down the isle with Sam. So, let\u2019s meet the wife of the Seattle Seahawks\u2019 fearless leader.<\/p>\n Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Sam Darnold\u2019s Wife Opens Up About Getting Married<\/p>\n In Hailee Steinfeld\u2019s \u201cBeau Society\u201d newsletter on Friday, April 17<\/a>, Katie talked to Hailee about her wedding. Hailee is also a newlywed, stating, \u201cThis was our first time attending a wedding as husband and wife (and mom and dad), and everything hit differently. The love in the air felt palpable and reminiscent. And I actually don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything more fun than being at a wedding with your husband. 10\/10 recommend.\u201d<\/p>\n The first question was how Sam and Katie met. \u201cWe were introduced through a mutual friend at a bar in Charlotte, North Carolina, where we were both living and working at the time,\u201d Katie explained.<\/p>\n She also said that she was surprised when Sam proposed, even though she knew it was coming. \u201cSam caught me off guard the day he actually proposed,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n When asked what she and Sam wanted out of their wedding day, she replied, \u201cSam and I have always said how fortunate we are to be surrounded by the most incredible friends and family. When we made our guest list, it was about 235 people, and every single person on that list was an important individual.\u201d She added, \u201cWe wanted to have a Friday wedding so that we could spend the entire weekend with our guests.\u201d<\/p>\n Kate continued, \u201cOur wedding was in San Diego, which was a \u2018destination wedding\u2019 for the vast majority of our friends. We wanted to give everyone the opportunity to make a trip out of it and spend Saturday together decompressing by the pool.\u201d<\/p>\n Sam Darnold\u2019s Wife Katie Hoofnagle Shares What the Two Did Special Before the Wedding<\/p>\n So, how down-to-earth is Katie? She actually bought her wedding dress off the rack.<\/p>\n \u201cAnthropologie wedding dresses are sized in the standard women\u2019s sizing format, so I purchased my normal size and had very minimal alterations,\u201d she said<\/a>. \u201cThis was an ideal situation given our short window between engagement and wedding, as well as being in Seattle for the majority of the wedding planning process.\u201d<\/p>\n Katie also opened up about something special and unique she and Sam did for their wedding.<\/p>\n \u201cSam and I did our vows twice,\u201d she said. \u201cOnce over coffee before the day started, and again at our ceremony in front of everybody.
